Not all churches are stuffy and narrow minded. People interprete scriptures in different ways which is why there are a lot of different religions under Christianity. I am a Chrstian and I am Apostolic. I know Apostolic isnt as big as Catholics but Apostolics bassically follow the Apostols doctrine. The Apostols are what Jesus changed the 12 deciples to. He changed them from diciples to apostols. I love my religioun and the church I go to. In church I can express myself and my feelings a lot and were like a big family there. Church can be a really good place were you grow a relationship with God and create friendships that will last a lifetime, it just comes down to finding the right one.I hope this helped :)

I am Catholic. I kinda enjoy my church but many people at my church are 'by the book' people. My priest is very liberal for a priest. (at least from what we can tell) And I am a very strong Democrat and when I run into narrow-minded people, it sets me off. I often get very uncomfortable and I won't enjoy their company any more on a certain topic or in a certain place. I still go to church somewhat regularly (hey I miss a few Saturdays or Sundays, I'm not perfect) and I teach Sunday school to kids, it's just now I often feel uncomfortable there at my church now and with the people around me. And by the way, this wasn't meant to offend anyone. :)

I'm not offended, don't worry. It's good to know that you haven't changed your view in God because you ran into some idiots in your life.
