I'm the same way. I avoid people at all costs. Whenever I'm in a store by myself, I will go the longest route possible to stay away from people. Idk why. I just do. But I make myself go to things like prom and stuff so...

you could listen to music and text or what ever, i hate going in public too, but music makes it easier, and if you gots a smart phone (sadly i dont) you can play games or go on the internet, it sucks to be forced to be around people though, i hate that, people scare me and i get really awkward if someone tries to talk to me, especially if i dont know them, im sorry shes making you go

Yeah I have the Same thing, it really sucks. My mom even makes fun of me about it and yells at me for not being normal...it sucks..just stick to talking to and hanging with your close friends, that's what I do because I feel the most comfortable...I don't know what to do in situtions where there's people I don't want to see...especially like extremely popular people or hot guys because I'm always extremely afraid of making a bad impression by saying something weird or being annoying or not funny...so I'm always that girl talking in a group tht never says anything. I've been there almost everyday and I know how it feels so you can talk to me anytime

That happened to me too!
So, my towns rec center is open every friday and saturday and we all go and hang out there!
On the first night, I was rolled up in A BALL, on the FLOOR crying about how badly I didn't want to go but my mom made me go and I was nervous but I wound up liking it.
but, you should atleast 'push' yourself to go, you might actually have fun.

I know how you feel :| I had just moved country and I got invited to this party and I had a panic attack because there were so many people I didn't know, so I just went outside and sat down to get some air, and then a couple people came out and talked to me, so then it was all right. Just give yourself a positive mindset and it should be fine(:

Awww I'm really sorry I actually missed my friend's birthday party once for the same reason. And I felt really bad afterwards. This time, if you can convince your mom and if you're that worried about it, you don't have to go if you don't want to. And yeah, it sounds like you might have social anxiety but that's okay I have anxiety too! There are lots of people you can talk to who will help you cope with it and if you explain it to your mom I bet that will help her understand. If you absolutely have to go to the party, then the advice other people gave would work. Or find one friend that you know will stick with you and you can be quiet and not as involved together. That's what I do because I get super super nervous in crowds but feel bad when I'm completely alone. I really hope that things look up soon for you, and I can promise they will. :)

my mom is still making me go, but she said if I absolutely hate it after a half and hour she will pick me up... so I guess it will just be 30 minutes of torture. And yeah I'll just stick to anyone I know like skinny jeans c: and thank you!! c:

Aww i'm sorry. That really must suck, my mom is kind of like that but not that bad. But if you really can't get out of it then just start preparing for it, get dressed nice and do your hair nice. You'll probably feel better there if you feel confident about how you look.
And honestly, just find someone else whos pretty much alone there and start talking to them about something. They'll probably be glad that theres someone there who will be by them so they wont be alone anymore.
And do you know the person whos party it is? Because if you do then just stick by them for most of it if you can. And you might even find someone there who you kinda like if you talk to people. Just try to have a better attitude about it, it might make it a little bit better.
And did you ever ask your mom about getting you help with your social anxiety? I have anxiety, not really social anxiety specifically mostly about things that will never happen, so people think that I'm crazy and it sucks. But if your mom would get you help someway for it then it would probably be better. and did you ever tell her that you think that you have social anxiety? She might lighten up if you tell her if you didnt already...

lol she probably figured that I hate talking to people by now, but I never told her that I have like social anxiety or anything O.o She probably just thinks I'm an awkward teenager who spends too much time on the computer..

Lol just talk to here, she'll probably try to include you even if you sound awkward when you talk to her. And theres probably other people who are afraid to go because they think that they'll be awkward and weird. Honestly it might sound weird but what I do when I get social anxiety is I pretend like I'm in a movie, like my life is a movie. I know it sounds really weird but honestly it somehow works. :b
And try telling your mom if your still r scared and really dont want to go, cuz it'll probably help. :)

Oh, I hate it when I don't know anyone! An easy conversation starter? Just compliment someone. Ask them were they got something. If theres one thing I've learned, it's that people love two things: compliments and talking. And honestly, if it's a group, then the conversation will carry on by itself. Just add in sometimes, or simply just smile, nod and laugh along with them. Besides, if worst comes to worst, then just ask to go to the bathroom and text your mom to come pick you up. Either pretend that she calls you and walk outside, then come abck later explaining that something happened and you have to go home, or make up an excuse that you are feeling sick. :)

omg the party is tonight and I just convinced my mom to not make me go. I feel terrible and like I let everyone down but honestly I'm glad I'm not going. I would seriously have a mental breakdown or something if I went so it's all good. I was sick earlier this week so used that as an excuse and I told my mom that it was her problem if she wants me to go and not mine (kind of harsh but whatever).
