" The other
day my health teacher had
everyone in my class take
a piece of paper and tape
it to our backs. Then she
had us walk around the
room and write a kind
word describing each person on
their backs. At the end of
class she came around and
took the papers off our
backs. We all protested wanting
to know what people had
written about us. She said,
"You see, all of you
are dying to see what
people think of you. You
all just want to hear a
few kind words about
yourselves. You live in a
world of hate and a
society that expects you to
be perfect. You are used
to people putting you down
and you need to hear a f
ew reassuring words. " She
handed them back and we
read them.
My health teacher is right.
We are expected to be
perfect and people constantly
put us down. Those few
words turned my day
around.
Maybe people do
care about
me.
