maybe one day, we will meet again
at the same adjacent spot

time
maybe it'll be the third
or maybe it'll be the upteenth
maybe it will be because of routine
or maybe it will be the result of chance
(a quick question: do you believe in the law of large
numbers?)
maybe it will be as new
or maybe we'll feel like
we've known each other
for years, quite a few
we will indulge in the novelty;
in our mind's hasty attraction
maybe affection will bloom
but as theory holds, limerence fades
maybe we'll have a lovely chat where we stand
and after, a good book for two
over a cup of (what i think is) your favourite drink
constantly conscious of
the tingle in our light brushings
and the resultant euphoric high
as the clock ticks towards twelve
the day/hour/minute passes
we will put the last punctuation to this moment
i would
with a kiss, like i have known and loved you
for what time cannot measure
when in actuality, i don't even know your name
or maybe
the last punctuation
was at the start.
