Chapter 10
I
quickly
ripped the
end of his
shirt just
big enough
to fit the
wound. I
dabbed
gently at
the cut and
washed the
blood from
the fabric.
I did this
several
times till
the wound
had stopped
bleeding
for the
most
part.
I looked
into the
wound to
see just
how far it
had cut.
Luckily, I
could see
no bone or
anything
like that.
Small
fragments
of rock
were stuck
in the cut.
I gently
pulled them
out.
I placed my
hand on his
neck to
check his
pulse.
Still
beating,
but very
slow. I had
left my
phone at my
house, and
Josh
didn’t
seem to
have one on
him.
That left
me to
care for
Him until
someone
noticed
that we
were gone
or saw us
down
here.
Right
now, all
I could
hope for
was for
Josh to
be
ok.

A couple
hours
later, the
sun began
to peak
over the
edge of the
bridge.
Lizzy
should be
up in about
2 more
hours for
school. Dad
will still
be asleep
and Henry
won’t
be getting
up because
he is sick.
I had to
put all my
hope that
Lizzy would
find that
note and
call
911.
