One in a
Million
*Chapter
One Hundred &
Nineteen; Part
One*
Amber's POV:
~April;
5
Months~
I sat down on the sofa
with Lilli as we
watched Disney movies
in our lazy clothes.
The saying about April
showers better ring
true, because this rain
was crazy. It had
rained nonstop for
three days here in
London. We were used to
rain, but come on; this
was out of this
world.
Lilli
wanted to paint my
toes, so she sat at the
other end of the sofa.
A green bottle of nail
polish sat on the sofa
next to her as she used
the brush to coat on
the color. I prayed my
hardest that
she would not
spill that nail polish
on my lovely
sofa! She rolled
up my grey
sweatpants so they
rested around my calf
muscle.
"Could you please
stay still,
Mommy?" Lilli
moaned at me as I
fidgeted around on the
sofa. I was so
uncomfortable, but
that's the price I
pay for being pregnant.
Alice in Wonderland
sang through the flat
as I spent my first,
real girls day with my
daughter.
"I'm sorry,
Lill." I drug out
my response; that
always annoyed her.
"I just can't
get comfy!" She
plunged the brush back
into the bottle and
screwed it on tightly.
With her arms crossed,
she stared at me. I
resettled in on the
sofa, fixing my clothes
and adjusting my
position.
"Sometimes I
wonder about you,
Mommy." She
sounded like Jess right
there and it made me
laugh. She finished up
my toes so they were
now green like the
summer's grass. We
were about halfway
through the movie when
Lilli questioned me at
an odd time.
"Where's Daddy
at?" Her eyes
never parting from the
television.
"He's out
doing some shopping for
me, Lill." I
stared at her, letting
my hands lay ontop of
my baby bump that was
covered by a hot pink
top. "Why,
what's wrong?"
I stared her down,
trying to pry the
answer out of her; she
never even look over at
me.
