this is exactly what happened to me; follow my instructionsss
1. go for some people who look cheery and happy and friendly, but make sure they aren't too loud cuz they are the ignorant ones :/
2. if its lunch time ask if u can sit with them or near them, if in class ask if u can sit with them bla blah,
3. ask them random questions but not completely weird :)
4. if none of those work look lost and even if you know where you are going ask the poeple in ur class where you are going, even if they are lost, carry on pretending to be lost and hang out with them... u'll gradually find it easier :)

Just go up and talk to people. Introduce yourself.

It's really not something you need to survive, just something to experiance. I'm a sophomore now, and last year I was nervous like you. But once I got to school I realized it's actually awesome. Don't worry, everyone else is trying to make new friends too. Just be yourself, be open, make conversation with people who seem nice- and your halfway to having a new friend! Second semester I only had one friend in my lunch, and we were scared that we were gonna have to sit alone. But we ended up deciding to sit with some nice boys from our class one day-now those boys are some of my best friends! I wish you the best of luck-and remember to have fun. People don't want to be friends with someone who seems super boring! =D you'll be amazing I promise!
