good thing they deleted this. sleep paralysis is very scary, and you legitimately feel like there is someone/something next to you, but you cannot do anything about it. you can actually experience pain or shortness of breath, which makes you believe even more that something is there. it is very real, and scary, and you cannot move. dont do it, please.

DO NOT TRY THIS. there are lots of theories about what sleep paralysis is and what causes it, and even though I haven't tried it, apparently its some scary . Do not do it, guys. Don't be all YOLO and try it. Even if lucid dreaming is awesome (like I said, I haven't done it so idk), sleep paralysis is not something to risk. Lots of people online (I did some research) think that sleep paralysis is actually demons in real life. Although I can't really agree with that, you shouldn't risk it

Most girls here are probably gonna dream up something like going on a date w/1D...

With practice you can actually control them.

Is it true you can actually CONTROL YOUR DREAMS, or just acknowledge that you are dreaming?

bickering - try not sleeping on your back, it can provoke SP. How long did it last? And what happened when it finished?

This sounds very interesting and I think I want to try it! Do you know if you remember lucid dreams more than regular dreams? Because sometimes I have difficulty remembering what I dream. :/

It's horrid. The sleep paralysis thing? Whenever I sleep really late at night I always wake up randomly and have to go through it. It's just so effing terrifying. And usually for me it's associated with hearing like those typical evil guy laughs and gah. And like I try to scream and start thrashing about and everything and I can't.

It's up to you if want to try Lucid Dreaming, try Googling it and such. I don't want anyone to do something they might regret, (like SP) or anything. I'm thinking of deleting this quote now but idk. :) There are different ways to Lucid Dream without Sleep Paralysis, so yeah, if anyone is interested in Lucid Dreaming just Google it. ^_^

Perri - Lucid Dreaming is when you are aware you are dreaming, you can make things happen in your dream. You just use your imagination.

Sleep Paralysis is when you are 'dreaming with your eyes open'. So your body is basically asleep but your mind isn't. Sleep Paralysis can be confronting, because you can't move and things in your mind can move and make noise around you.

I tried this and after 45 min or so I opened my eyes to see these black noodle people coming through my door and crawling past me past my bed. There joints were bended the wrong way and they had this creepy baby face mask on. aster about 20 seconds of the most traumatizing moments of my life, this unusually tall thing with long (long as in 5 feet) needle fingers comes through my door. Its skin looks too tight for its body and is about 7 feet tall. Its arms and legs are twisted and were still breaking and snapping while he stood there. The worst part was it's face. It was no eyes and no nose, just a wide open mouth gushing some gooey black liquid. It looked at me and all the sudden 2 bright red eyes come out of its head. It starts screaming some demonic sound. It lunges at me. this when I wake up I was shaking s bad and I haven't been able to sleep alone for the 3 days after that. I'm telling you now, lucid dreaming is different for everybody, but I don't want anyone going through what I saw.. or didn't see.

Perri917- Sleep paralysis is the step before lucid dreaming. It is really hard to get out of that part, because entering the lucid dream and keeping it lucid takes practice. so if you try this you'll probably just end up in sleep paralysis, which is the scariest thing ever. you feel pressure on yourself, like if something's on top of you and you can't move. you think your eyes are open, but they aren't. You'll see figures in your room. you'll see them move/crawl towards you. You'll heard sounds that will scare tha s//t out of you. However, if you do get into lucid dreaming, it's pretty awesome. You can control your dreams and they seem even more real. But it's just not worth it. Cause you have to go through sleep paralysis.

Yeah, it's safe. (: But like Sofi said, Sleep Paralysis can be quite intimidating if you haven't had it before. It depends on you though, if you want to try it maybe Google the different types of Lucid Dreaming, there are ways of Lucid Dreaming that do not use Sleep Paralysis to enter it.

Dinosawr1 - They are quite scary if you don't know that it is a Sleep Paralysis. If you remind yourself it isn't real then it's not as bad. In SP you basically hear and see things, like a hallucination, that aren't actually. It's just your mind. They can be really scary, the first time you experience it.It's like you are frozen with your eyes open and things happen around you. Just shut your eyes, and let your imagination run wild, you should be able to Lucid Dream after realising your body is asleep (by knowing you are in SP). It takes some practice to actually get it right though. :)

Even though you can control Lucid Dreaming (with a lot of practice) sleep paralysis is really scary the first time you try it. You don't have any experience with it so your body isn't used to it. Your dreams don't feel like dreams. They feel real. Every sound you hear even if it is the slightest sounds like demons or something. you feel people coming towards you but you can't do anything about it. DO NOT TRY SLEEP PARALYSIS. i do encourage you to try lucid dreaming. it's awesome.
