Chapter
13,
It was 2 weeks since I’ve
had the chest infection,
Thankfully I was feeling
fine.
Mom decided it would be better if
she took me out of school and got me homeschooled, I was happy to
be home schooled.
I’d get away from the
bullies and I would be able to have more time to do stuff. I
would miss my friends at school of course but they said they
would come see me.
“Sweetie, are you
ready?” mom said standing over me.
“Ready for what?” I
asked trying to get up.
“School” mom said
helping me up.
“I thought I was being home
schooled?” I asked shakily.
“You are” she said
“Your tutor is here”
“Okay” I smiled
walking slowly downstairs.
“Karen, this is Casey,
Casey this is Karen” mom introduced me to my new
tutor.
“It’s so nice to meet
you” Karen smiled.
“You too” I smiled
“I’ll go get dressed”
“Okay we’ll start in
15 minutes” Karen said unpacking her equipment.
I quickly put on a pair of
sweats and a white shirt.
Once I got downstairs Karen was
sat down drinking coffee.
“Are you ready?” she
asked looking at me.
“Yeah” I smiled
weakly.
For some reason I was scared to
be around this women.
Something just didn’t feel
right.
She gave me a piece of paper and
a black pen.
“We’re going to start
with English” she smiled.
Okay maybe this wasn’t
bad.
“Let’s start with the
basics I want to see what you know” she said sitting
down.
“Okay” I said looking
scared.
Once English was over, I went to
find some food in the kitchen.
I found a note which said
‘Left a sandwich in the fridge.’
Once Karen and I sat down we
started talking.
“Your name is Casey?”
Karen smiled.
“Yeah” I nodded my
head taking the salad out of my sandwich.
“Your name seems to ring a
bell” she laughed.
“Well I guess there’s
loads of Casey’s around” I laughed.
“Probably but I seem to
recognise you more” she said raising an eyebrow.
It felt weird having a meal with
your teacher.
“I’m Jesse’s
mom” she smiled.
I looked away and bit my
lip.
“That’s me” I
smiled “Was he angry at me?”
“No but he was upset and
angry at himself” she said “I mean he didn’t
tell me but I could tell”
“Oh” I said feeling
guilty “Tell him I said sorry”
“I could tell him to come
round tonight” she said “I don’t think
he’s doing anything”
“If you don’t
mind” I smiled.
Maybe I should just forgive
him.
Maybe everything got blown out of
proportion.
