Before I Die...
Chapter 2:
Cody's POV
I sat on the couch, flicking through that channels. My feet
kicked up on the table.
"Cody! Get your feet off of the table!" My older
sister, Amy, complained.
I ignored her and focused on the T.V.
"I'm so glad I'm leaving tonight! Don't expect
me back anytime soon!"
I smiled, "Good and I wont!"
She huffed and marched up the stairs. I chuckled and then my
phone buzzed.
Hey Codz.
Hey Lis
What time should I come over?
6:00 okay?
Thats fine.
Okay Bye.
Bye.
I slipped my phone into my pocket and walked into my room. So
much stuff to put away. I thought. This night was going to be
hectic.
"Emma!" I called for my younger sister. She appeared in
my doorway a few seconds later, "Yes?"
"Help me put everything away. Mellissa is coming
over."
She nodded, knowing what I meant and we went off to cleaning.
Mellissa's POV
I scanned my closet, looking for something to wear. I threw on my
favorite ruffled blue shirt with jeans. I slipped on my converse
and walked downstairs.
"Brina!" I called her.
"Whats up Lissa?"
"I'm going out. Tell mom."
"Where ya goin?"
"Stella's."
"What about Cody's?"
"I'm going there at six."
"Oh.."
"Just tell mom."
"Can I come?"
"No!"
She sighed and walked off and into the backyard.
I threw on a light jacket and left the house.
"Lissa?"
"Hey!" I smiled at Stella.
"What are you doing here? Aren't you going to
Cody's?"
"Yeah at six. Wanna hang?"
She peeped her head back inside then popped it back out,
"Yeah I guess."
"Why you keeping the door closed?" I asked.
"Mum doesn't want anyone to see our messy house."
She rolled her eyes.
I giggled, loving when her british accent kicked in, "Lets
go."
"Where are we goin?"
"The park. To the 'cave'."
She nodded, stidking her head back in, telling her mother where
she was going. Then she walked out the door.
As we entered the park, many people were there.
"C'mon, we'll go the back way."
Stella nodded and followed me around the crowds of people. As
soon as we got far enough, we bolted to the secret hideout.
It was a nice liitle place in the back of the park. It was in the
woods. It was a cave basically. Stella had been going there ever
since she was little with her older brother. Now that her brother
is older she started to take me and Cody. Our initals were carved
into the stone and there was a tire swing outside of the cave. It
was a nice little place.
I sat on the little branch we used as a bench and tried to make
myself comfortable.
"So...I have a plan."
"What is it?" Stella questioned.
"Well before we eat, I'll ask for a tour of the house.
I'll make sure to check everything and try to find something
secret. I will get to the bottom of this. I'll ask his
parents a lot of questions, they'll have to give me
clues.
"I think it sounds alright..But Lis..What if there isnt any
secrets?"
"There is! I know it!"
She shrugged and it caused me to wonder if all this was my
imagination acting up. But I knew it wasnt. I was going to find
out something, whethere Stella or Cody liked it or not!
