Chapter 1: Griffin

Expecting the unexpected in the first way to survive life.
That was my philosopy for everything.
Either do that or you'd get knocked down at every impasse.
At school, I was a 'cool guy' because of my indifference about most things.
At home, I was a 'quiet protector' because of my tendency to
protect my little sister from any problems.
Anywhere else, I was that 'mysterious' guy that got glances from every girl I happened to be around.
Which, in turn, led to them looking to their friends and saying,
'Oh, my Gawwwwd, you guys. That guy over there is totally hawwtt.'
To which they would reply, after glancing at me, as well,
'Oh, my Gawwwwwwwdd, you're so right.' 
Annoyed the hell out of me.
So, I'd block out their high-pitched giggling by putting my earphones and totally zoning out.
That was the routine.
For a long time.
Then, I met someone different.
