The Unforeseen

Chapter 3

After the assembly, Lily and I walked out of the auditorium. I noticed people were staring at me like there was a man-eating squid donkey thing behind me. I hated that. As a kid, everyone at my school stared at me and made fun of me because of my eyes. They thought my eyes were "scary" and probably thought I was a child circus acted.
Lily felt my discomfort,"Don't worry, just keep walking."
We were on our way to bed when we heard swift and proper footsteps coming behind us and we knew instantly who it was.,"HEY STEVEN!!" a mousy annoying voice called out,"You don't have to take stairs to go to your room anymore!"
"What they have and elevator?" I asked sarcastically but curious.
I turned around to see a slim girl with wavy brown hair and brown eyes. She was standing with her hip out and her finger to her lip. She is one of the most annoying girls on campus. What was her name...? Oh yeah, Kacey Mendez. I  gave a polite smile and tried to stop my eye from twitching. Oh no! Not this one again! I thought. She laughed hysterically,"No silly!," she squeaked,"Since you're the new Head Director, you get Prof.Robinson's room!! It's right over there." She gestured to the janitor's closet next to the bathrooms.
Great I get to live in a janitor's closet. I thought,"uhh...k? Can I at least get my stuff?" I said thinking about how I'm going to fit everything and myself into a closet. Maybe they took out the cleaning supplies and made like a 3 foot bed..? I don't know. I just hope she was pointing at the wrong thing.
"Sure! But be quick because I'm getting your old one!" she squealed jumping up and down like a child.
Something came to my mind,"Who said that you can have my room?" I asked.
Kacey's expression harden,"I wanted it so I asked."
"There's nothing wrong with your room so I wanna give my room to someone who needs it." I said firmly.
"Oh really?" She said with attitude,"Like who?"
This astonished me. I gave her a 'Are you blind?!' expression and pointed to the people in the hallway. They were sleeping on the cold hard floor because the cafeteria and gym were full. I felt bad for them. I mean you can fit six people in a single room.
"Oh come on Steven,"she said flicking my forehead,"I know about you. What you did. You could careless about these people. I think this just the power rushing to your head." She came closer to me,"Maybe you just need a release from all this stress."She whispered in my ear loud enough for people to still hear her. She batted her eyes and bite her lip.
I grinned,"The only release I need is from you."
She gasped and slapped me across the face,"You are the most mean and selfish boy everrr!!" She said stomping off.
I almost forgot that Lily was standing on the stairs. She was keeping herself from laughing and had her arms folded,"Well...THAT was interesting,"she said, "girlfriend?"
I made a gagging sound,"Haahahahahaaa that was a funny joke."
"Your so nice." she said punching my arm.
"OOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!" I screamed falling on the floor holding my arm.
"Oh my God!! I'm soooo sorry!!" Lily said trembling,"I didn't know it would hurt that bad!"
I stopped and smirked,"It doesn't hurt that bad."
She kicked me,"You think you're so charming, don't you?" She said laughing.
"A little bit yes," I said getting up,"Now let's go get my junk before some other psycho besides you attacks me." I ran up the stairs and into the hallway and made a sharp right into my room.
Lily laughed,"Feeling the love." She said following me.
I poked my head out the doorway and stuck out my tongue,"No problem!"
