Chapter 8. ((Part 2))

"You guys want to go grab something to eat?" asked Macy.
"Yes!" Alaina replied instantly. "I'm starving!"
I giggled.
"Sure, whatever." I responded carelessly.
We walked over to a pretzel place.
"Can you guys just get me a water? I have to call my mom quickly." I asked calmly.
"Sure." Alaina said giving me a smile.
"Thanks." I said turning away, punching my mom's cell number into my phone.
The call rang through to voicemail.
I hung up and tried again, still no answer.
I slid my phone open and sent her a text, explaining how much the dress cost, and that I would be home soon.
Just as I was about to head back towards Macy and Alaina, a familiar face caught my eye.
Was that Josh? Or was I just imagining him like that night on the beach.
No, it wasn't Logan this time..that was deffinetly Josh this time.
But I wished more than anything that it wasn't.
Tears swelled up in my eyes.
This couldn't be happening.
Not here, not now, not to me.
Then from across the mall, his eyes met mine.
A shocked expression appeared on his face.
He knew that I had seen what he'd done.
He started making his way towards me,but I took off running.
"Emma! Please Stop!" He screamed.
But I didn't stop, and I didn't plan on it either.
He had his chance to love me.
And he lost it.

What do you guys think Josh did? This chapter's kind of depresing if you compare it to the last one, right?
