Chapter 27
*Alec’s
POV*
I looked around the room to see Amanda sat
there on my bed.
“Why are you here?” I said
looking into Amanda’s eyes.
“I wanted to make sure you’re
okay” she said in a soothing voice.
“I’m great” I said grabbing
my jacket, “In fact I’m going for a walk, want to
join? I don’t know my way around here yet, maybe you could
show me”
“You need better pickup lines”
she flashed a smile.
“Thanks” I said gently pushing
her.
We started to walk around the park, we both
ran for the swings.
“So, I’m sorry to hear about your
ex-girlfriend” Amanda said swinging her legs in and
out.
“Maybe it was for the best” I
said in a low voice.
“Do you miss her?” she asked
stopping the swing, I guess she was being
serious.
“I guess but I can’t do with
someone cheating on me" I said looking
down.
“Maybe your right but maybe one day
you’ll be able to forgive her” she said
smiling.
“Maybe we were just better as friends.
Did you know we were friends since 3rd grade?” I
said trying to let out a smile, “I began to love her since
6th grade and look how it turned
out”
“I guess you shouldn’t fall in
love with your best friend it blows up in your face” she
said nudging me.
“Does that mean we can’t be best
friends then?” I said in a playful way.
“What do you mean by that?” she
asked and she stopped swinging.
“Well...” I said joining beside
her.
“Well?” she said
laughing.
“Nothing” I laughed, “How
about we go to the shops?”
“Alright” Amanda said pulling out
a smile.
We walked to the closest corner shop and I
got a bar of galaxy and a bag of chips.
“Oh I left my money at home” she
said checking her purse, “The only money I have is
1p”
“It’s alright” I said
getting a £10 note out of my wallet, “I’ll
pay”
“That’s £4.50” the
women behind the counter said smiling and returning my
change.
“Thanks, I’ll pay you back”
she said getting her drink of Tango out of the
bag.
“It doesn’t matter” I
said.
“So what did you mean by we can never
be best friends?” Amanda asked opening her
drink.
“Uh nothing” I said
smiling.
“Tell me” she said pulling on my
hand.
“You’re cute” I
mumbled.
I looked towards her and she
blushed.
“Thanks” she said looking towards
me.
“So how about we go on a date this
weekend?” I said.
“Sure” she said smiling,
“If that’s what you Americans
do”
“What do you mean?” I asked
looking confused.
“Us British don’t really do
dates” Amanda said blurting it out.
“Then what do you in England?” I
asked confused.
“Ugh boys just asked us
out...simple” she laughed.
“Alright then maybe we don’t go
on a date” I said fidgeting with my
fingers.
“No we can go on a date” she
smiled, “I like the idea”
“Okay then” she
blushed.
