The Haunting
Games
Chapter Three
Later that night I was in
my room writing in my journal about the day’s events.
Scott was in my room with me, playing video games on his
laptop.
“Hey, I’ll be right back, I got to go to the
bathroom,” he said. He got up and headed to the
bathroom. I put one of my headphones in and started listening
to some music. I was scared. I didn’t wish to be alone
but Scott and I were the only ones awake. Outside in the
hallway, I heard footsteps coming up the stairs. I pulled
myself out of bed and peeked my head out of the
door.
“Scott?” I said into the dark. No answer. I
shrugged it off and went back in my room, closing the door
behind me. Once I was back and settled in bed, my door swung
open, not even making a sound. I turned, expecting to see
Scott, but nothing was there. I heard footsteps coming
towards me.
“Who’s there?” I asked. Suddenly there was
a figure, just a shadow looking thing.
“Why, don’t you remember me?” said a voice.
It sounded as Cory’s voice had. I started breathing
hard and fast out of fear.
“I can’t remember you if I don’t see
you.”
“You saw me in the bathroom, don’t you
remember?”
“Yes. You looked like one of my old friends.
Cory.”
“That’s exactly who I am,” the voice said.
My eyes widened.
“Cory, why did you try to murder me?”
Cory’s face showed, then the rest of him. His clothes
were ragged.
“Why, don’t you remember? You were always the
teacher’s favorite. It was always about you. You were
even my mother’s favorite. And now I’m dead and I
want as much regret as I can get.” Cory took a few
steps forward, and then punched my face. I screamed of the
pain. There was running down the hall, three different pairs
of feet were all coming for me. Cory disappeared through the
window and my family came through the door. I was holding my
hand up to my eye. That’s where he hit.
“What the hell happened?” Scott said. I looked
up, tears streaming down my face.
“Cory. H-he’s the g-ghost. He did this,” I
said, revealing my eye.
“Alright, I’ll go get some ice. Alex, call his
mom,” my mom said. I got out my cell phone and made a
call to Cory’s mom.
“Hi Alex, what are you doing up so late? I’m sure
it’s near midnight where you are,” Cory’s
mom said.
Hope you like it(: more later?
