Opposites Attract
Chapter 2: Skylar’s P.O.V.
It was the first day of school and I was sort of glad to be back. I got to see all my friends and I didn’t have to be at home with my mom and dad all day.  If I told anybody that they would think that I was crazy. From the outside my family looks like the perfect family, we live in the nice part of town with a huge house. My parents have a lot of money and are high up in the social status of town. What people don’t know is that my parents’ marriage is falling apart, they fight all the time and I can’t do anything about it.
“Skylar!! Wait up man!” my best friend Ryan called.
“Hey Ryan, what’s up?” I asked.
“Dude what happened to you the other night up at the lake house? You like disappeared and came back like a half hour later?”
O boy I did not want to tell Ryan about the girl on the beach. He would think I was losing it! I am one of the most popular guys in school and I have girls around me all day. He would not understand that I was intrigued by this girl; I wanted to know more about her. I mean I don’t even know her name. But she knows mine and at the beach I caught her staring at me a few times which I’m used to, but this was different. She wasn’t throwing herself at me like most girls do, and when I went back to the beach to see if she was still there, I found her asleep on the beach at 10:30 at night. I was surprised that she did not have a guy there with her because she is so beautiful but she acted like she didn’t know it. Then again she said that she had just moved here.
“Umm…. It was nothing…. I uh just wanted to clear my head so I went for a walk,” I lied. I hated lying to Ryan but he would not understand.
“If you say so,” Ryan replied.
