Perfectly Imperfect
Chapter 46
 
"Wow," the girl had her hands on Kevin's chest, "You seem like the type of guy who works out a lot!"
"Wow," Kevin droned sarcastically, "You seem like the type of girl to go for taken guys."
"Ivy?"  I heard my dad call, "what are you doing?"  Suddenly, the girl, IVY*, jumped off Kevin and became nervous.
"N-nothing, Uncle John!"
I pushed past her and into my dad's house.  "Dad?"  I called out, just like old times.  He came running around the corner.
"It can't be...  Taylor?"
"Hey, Daddy," I smiled with tears in my eyes.  He opened his arms and I ran into them.  I could hear him; muffled, through our hug.
"Oh, My little princess, I've missed you so much!"  He squeezed my arms, "Let me look at you!  I haven't seen you in two years!"  I did a quick twirl, and he started laughing.  It felt amazing to hear my father's bi, booming laugh again.
"John?"  I heard Michelle call out, "Who's here?"
"Michelle!  Come here!  Quickly!"  She strolled around the corner elegantly.  When she saw me, her face lit up.  Michelle was like my mother.
"Taylor?"  She whispered, and I nodded, crying again.  She ran over and gave me a hug, and then she started to talk at full speed.  "Oh my gosh, you look beautiful!  You look so grown up!  Where's Josh?  How's your mother?  Why are you here?  Not that we aren't SO happy to see you, but still!  Is everything okay?"  She pulled me into their sitting room.  "IVY!"  She called, "YOUR STEP COUSIN IS HERE!!!!"  Ivy slouched towards us.
"Yeah...  I could tell..."  She glared at me.  Kevin walked away from her quickly, and he sat down next to me.
"Well," I started after my dad had sat down, "You guys are probably wondering why I'm here..."  I heard Ivy mumble something that sounded a lot like "more like when you'll leave..." but I shook it off. "Well, I moved out of Mom's house.  I was just so tired of her always putting me down, especially in the worst ways.  I had moved in with my friend Jessie after my boyfriend had died..."  I told them everything from Greg up to Kevin, and when I was finished, I was in tears again.  Ivy scoffed.
"You really expect us to believe that load of crap?"  She crossed her arms.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I don't remember asking for your opinion," I spat at her.
"Ivy..."  My dad warned, "Why would she lie?"
"Because she just wants to steal all the attention away from ME!"  She laughed, as if it was obvious.
"What about OUR daughter?!"  Michelle gestured between herself and my dad.
"Oh...  Yeah...  Her too!"
