When we got home, I went straight to
the kitchen to get some food. I decided to eat some chips. As I sat
down on the couch in the living room with the bag my phone started
vibrating. My mom was calling me.
“What?” I answered.
“Well hello to you, too Kaylynn.” She said
sarcastically. I stayed quiet. “Did you take your brother
home?”
“Yeah, thanks for telling me that’s my new
job.”
“Kay, I’m busy right now. I don’t need
this.”
“Then why’d you call me?” I asked before hanging
up. Dylan walked into the living room and sat on the other couch,
grabbing the remote. He put on ESPN, and I threw pillow at him.
“Kaylynn!” He threw a pillow back at me.
“Dylan!” I stuck out my tongue at him. We started
laughing and wrestling with each other while hitting one another
with a pillow. Eventually we both tired and sat on the floor.
“Kay, do you think Dad will find us?” He asked me
seriously. You see, our dad cheated on my mom when I was in eighth
grade. We moved to another town and he found us there, and my mom
took him back. He lived with us for awhile before he cheated on her
again with another woman. He never did anything wrong to me or
Dylan, but we hate him for what he’d done. Me and Dylan
didn’t wanna move again because it was a good place where we
were living and we stayed there for about three years. We just
wanted my mom to not take him back and share custody, but she
wanted to move again. So we did, and now I’m stuck here in
this boring place.
“Honestly Dylan, I don’t
know.” I answered.
