Just The Way You Are (Chapter 4)
“Ok class, we’re going to start reading one of Shakespeare’s greatest pieces of writing, Romeo and Juliet.” Ms. Hastings said happily. Of course, a romantic play. “Does anyone know where the story takes place?” She asked, Nathan’s hand shot up right away. “Yes, Nathan.” “Venice.” He replied smoothly. “That’s correct.” Ms. Hastings said. For the rest of the period Ms. Hastings asked questions, and Nathan answered them. “Well class, maybe you should all follow Nathan, he’s doing great so far and it’s his first day here.” The bell rang and I walked out. “Hey wait up!” I heard Nathan call. “What?” I asked. “Well, I need to get to know you, let’s hang out.” “I can’t, I have cheerleading.” “Oh.” He said looking down. “Maybe another time.” “Yeah, soon, ok?” He nodded and gave me a smile. “See ya later.” I called as I made my way to the gym. Practice was never ending and I was exhausted when I got home. “How was school?” My mom asked me right as I walked in the house. “It was fine, I’m going to a party on Friday night.” I said faking enthusiasm. “That’s great honey, who’s house is it going to b at?” “Chris’s.” My mom raised an eyebrow, “Oh, Chris. Do you like him?” I shrugged, he was pretty cute. “I want you two going out as soon as possible.” My mother said, I’ll know if you don’t, and if you don’t, let’s just say it won’t be pretty.” I nodded and went up to my room to do my homework. I woke up early the next morning to get ready for school, picked up Brandy and we talked on the drive there. “So we’re going to Chris’s right?” She asked me while applying lip-gloss. “Yeah, mom said it was cool.” “You’re mom thinks everything is cool” “No, not everything, only the things she wants to hear.” We got out of the car and went our separate ways to class, I was in for quite a day.
