   Chapter Ten
   Noah was suddenly not beside me anymore.
   As soon as I noticed that while walking, I nearly had a heart attack.
   It's not like I'm scared of Megan.
   Okay, maybe a bit.
   But most of the time, i'd just rather not get caught in all the drama by simply talking back.
   It never leads to anything good with girls like Megan.
   "Oh my gosh, hey Raina!" she exclaimed in a fake, girlish voice.
   Her face then suddenly turned evil. I think I almost peed my pants at that moment.
   "Nobody wants to be your friend still, if that's what you're aiming for. Loser."
   She began to giggle, my ex-best friends laughing along.
   I didn't dare even glance towards them; i couldn't without breaking.
   I almost opened my mouth, but then i reminded myself, as always, that that wouldn't do me any good.
   Suddenly, I felt a warm hand on my arm. I smiled, relieved.
   "Hey gorgeous."
   "Hey!" Megan brightly replied as she smiled at him seductively. He rolled his eyes. "I wasn't talking to you, but if I would, i wouldn't use gorgeous to describe you."
   Her jaw dropped.
   "Baby, what the h--l happened to you? You never say this stuff?"
   He smirked.
   "Nah, but I always though it."
   And with that, he walked with me inside the school, away from her.
   "God, what're you doing? Aren't you worried your friends will hate you when they find out you've dissed your favorite play toy like two times already!" I dramatically exclaimed.
   He chuckled. "Well, I needed to defend you since you're still not doing it yourself."
   I opened my mouth to explain why, but he cut me off.
   "So my first reason is that from now on, you aren't alone."

   Noah came to pick me up for school the next morning.
   And I wished he hadn't.
   Why? Oh, I don't know.
   Maybe because he decided it'd be really funny to honk his horn really loud at 8:00 am,
   which almost woke up my mom, which would've lead to anger and questioning.
   "You should feel lucky that my brother's already left, and my mom's a heavy sleeper!" I called out just as I stepped out onto my porch forty-five minutes later, dressed and made-up.
   It was a burden trying to duplicate myself into looking the way I had the day before
   when Delilah made me over.
   Noah was leaning against his gorgeous car, a bored expression on his face.
   The fact that his hair was still a bit dishevelled from sleep and yet he still looked like a model ticked me off.
   At the sound of my voice, his gaze met mine.
   His eyes slowly swept over my body appreciatively, then back up to my face.
   He shrugged with a small smile on his face.
   . "I'm not a morning person, sorry," he said, not sounding apologetic at all.
   I rolled my eyes, and walked down my porch steps towards him.
   ****
   To say that people were surprised when I stepped out of Noah's car would be an understatement.
   I'm honestly not sure what they were more surprised about; my change of appearance,
   or the fact that Noah was hanging around me.
   "Who the hell is that with Montes?" I heard a guy ask his friend as I walked with Noah.
   "Who cares, she's hot."
   "No way, isn't that Raina Mayers?"
   "What the hell, it is."
   Hearing that, Megan's head snapped towards me.
   Her eyes narrowed, my breathing quickened, and I prepared myself
   for the worst.

   NOTE
   Hey..people who read this story. I'm SO sorry to those who were waiting for the next chapter to this story, i feel really bad that i haven't uploaded in a bagillion years and just left you guys hanging.
   And I'm not going to lie to you guys and tell you i was in the hospital in critical condition or something like that, cause that's not the case.
   I kind of just got writers block, even though I knew where the story was going..?
   I'm sorry, i'm a super confusing person.
   I wouldn't blame any of you if you just stopped reading this story cause i didnt upload. But, I would appreciate if whoever is willing to continue reading this story can fave this quote right here, right after you read it? Just so I know that there may be some of you who haven't gave up, or who are willing to come back to reading this story? Anyways, thank you if that's the case, and thanks for wasting some of your time on this note of mine.

   because it makes much more sense to me
   It's such a better message;
   that you should live to the fullest all you can
   and spend all the time that's possible doing amazing things
   before it's too late
   when you're pulled back by university or college,
   then soon after work
   and then finally when you make some money,
   you decide you're ready to do what you always promised yourself you'd do when you were young,
   but never got around it
   but then that special person will come around
   and you'll start a family.
   and then, you'll think it's too late
   having all these new responsibilities
   and for the rest of your life,
   you regret never doing anything
   and that's why this message
   is so much more importantnly
   for every one of us still in the complicated process

    Chapter Nine
    He stood there, looking handsome as always, staring at me with an unreadable expression.
    An expression I hadn't seen on him yet, and desperately wanted to know the meaning of. Then all of a sudden, as if suddenly snapping out of some sort of daze, he sent a small smirk towards my direction,
    before looking over at his sister.
    "Nice work Del," He said simply. And for some strange reasons,
    I felt a tad disappointed. I shook it off and smiled a bit.
    "Yeah, thank you for this. I actually feel really great about myself for once," I told her gratefully.
    She grinned at me. "It's no problem at all, I like adore giving makeovers."
    I chuckled. "I could seriously tell. I think you almost poked my eye out at one point with the mascara brush because you were jumping around with excitement so much."
    She smiled sheepishly, before winking at me.
    Suddenly realizing that Noah hadn't said anything else since his first comment,
    I turned and spotted him now leaning against the wall with his arms crossed, a far away look in his eyes.
    He looked so deep in thought, I wondered curiously what he was thinking of so hard.
    "Hey, No!" Del exclaimed, trying to get his attention, as she must've also noticed his state.
    "Huh?" He snapped his gaze towards her as he said this.
    She rolled her eyes. "Lost in thought much?"
    He ignored her and stood up, walking towards me.
    "Alright, so we've got this part of my plan down. Now all you've gotta do is go to school tomorrow like this and you'll work your magic."
    I frowned as I realized I had forgotten the fact that tomorrow, everyone would see me like this.
    And suddenly, millions of butterflies formed in my stomach.
    "Ye-yep." I stammered. He chuckled. "What, you nervous?" I shrugged, and put a straight face on. "Nah, I'm perfect."
    His smirk widened. "Oh yeah? You sure?"
    Looking over at him, I stumbled back a bit, surprised at how close he was all of a sudden.
    Was he not all the way over there just now?
    I suddenly realized his sister had ran off somewhere.
    "Y-yes," I stuttered. Our noses were almost touching.
    Well, not exactly since he was so much taller than me.
    "What's the matter, is my close proximity making you nervous?"
    I shook my head.
    He leaned in, and I held my breath.
    "Well see you at school tomorrow, Rain," He whispered in my ear, before sauntering out.
    I exhaled.

    Chapter Eight
    "Are you done yet?" Noah grumbled from outside the door for what felt like the hundreth time that hour.
    And yes, my fixation took about an hour.
    Who knows, I lost track of time after the first five minutes.
    "No, now shut it," Delilah snapped, looking irratated that she was hearing
    the same question as a few minutes ago.
    She had just put on yet another outfit on me that she had put together with the clothes
    from her closet.
    Most of her clothing had fit me, seeing as she was pretty tall for her age.
    She looked over my whole body once, and I was enormously relieved to
    find her smiling in approvement at what she had put on me. "This looks really good.
    Of course though, we're gonna have to go shopping to fill up your closet with
    some cute stuff. You can't just wear something cute one day."
    I shrugged, honestly not caring how I looked at school, as always.
    But yet, after the young girl had spun me around and towards the
    mirror to look at myself for the first time, I gasped at what I found.
    I couldn't lie, the girl was good.
    What I wore was honestly rather simple, yet still stunning.
    Especially compared to the sweatpants and baggy t-shirts I usually wore.
    I now wore a flowy white tank top, which showed off my surprisingly
    nice curves since it was tucked into some ripped light skinny jeans, which also showed off some fit legs I never took notice of before.
    To complete the look, i wore a golden charm necklace that hung low,
    and some gladiator sandals.
    On top of that, Delilah had applied some makeup on my face, simple things
    like mascara, lip gloss, blush, etc. Though in conclusion, it gave off
    the natural makeup look. My dark brown hair cascaded in waves over my shoulders
    and down my back. It almost went down to my waist,
    surprising me since I usually wore it in a ponytail, so I hadn't known it was this long.
    All in all though, I felt so pretty right then-- something i hadn't felt in a bit. After everything in my life went downhill, I stopped trying.
    "Okay, now I'm done!"
    "Finally," Noah grumbled from outside, his voice muffled. He opened the door, sauntering in.
    And then he froze.

    Chapter Six
    "This is where you live..?" I breathed, my mouth agape at the house before me.
    It was huge, a mansion even. He nodded, looking asmused by my facial expression.
    I let out a low whistle. "D_mn, didn't know you were rich."
    He shrugged. "I don't really tell anyone. I prefer not to be known as
    some rich guy at school and have fake friends that only hang out with me
    for my money, you know?"
    I smiled, showing him I did. He lead me inside his large home, and upstairs.
    "So, tell me why I'm at your house again?"
    "Actually I never told you at all."
    I nodded. "Hm, exactly. Now would be a good time to do so,
    'cause i'm beyond confused. "
    He didn't say anything still.
    We soon entered a room, where there sat a girl who looked like Noah,
    only younger. "Raina, meet my sister Delilah. She's annoying, but she's
    the only person I've got to give you a good makeover."
    I scrunched my eyebrows in confusion.
    "A makeover? I never agreed to this. Why would I need a makeover?"
    He rolled his eyes. "Rain, I know I don't know you all that well, but I could tell that you seriously want to show those girls who make fun of you who's boss, especially Megan. And I know that you're actually really scary when you want to be, and confident. Why you keep it boxed in, I don't know yet. But I do know that you wear alot of big clothing like you are now because you're hoping it'll help you blend in, but that only makes it worse for you," He paused when he noticed my huge smile.
    He stared at me, confused.
    "Sorry, it's just..thank you."
    He shrugged, and half smiled.
    For a second there, we stared at each other intently.
    "Girl, you better sit down right now. I may be a year younger than you guys, but I know that that is not in style in your grade, or in any grade for that matter." His sister, Delilah, rambled as she stood up and dragged me over to a makeup table.
    Well that moment has been ruined.

    "Wait--what?"
    He smirked. "You heard me."
    I rolled my eyes.
    "But what do you mean, 'show this school who I really am?' I am who I am.."
    . "No, people don't know how stubborn, witty, and
    feisty you secretly are cause you never talk to anybody at school
    the way you do to me."
    At that moment, I realized he was right. I did in fact act
    different around him, I acted like my real self. But why did I feel
    so comfortable with him? Especially him being Noah Montes.
    Oh my god.
    I make him sound seriously dramatic, don't I?
    I sighed a bit.
    "It's not that easy, I can't get in trouble at school. I can't afford to lose my chance of going to university by being suspended or something because I was in some stupid cat fight," I explained.
    He scoffed. "You're not going to ruin those chances, I promise you that.
    Besides, what makes you think you'll get into a cat fight?"
    I shrugged. "I've watch a lot of movies." He chuckled. "And just so you know, this has to do with my attempt of keeping you alive."
    I nodded. "Okay, fine."
    "C'mon," He said, grabbing my hand and dragging me to his car.
    "Wait a minute, the bell already rang!" I protested.
    He shrugged. "And?"
    I furrowed my eyebrows. "And we have to go to school?"
    He rolled his eyes. "I guess this is your first time skipping then, huh?"
    My eyes widened.
    Oh Raina, what're you doing with this boy?

    Chapter Five
    "Hey Montes!" one of his friends suddenly called.
    "Why do they call you by your last name?" I asked.
    He smirked. "Noah's too innocent." He winked at me before raising a finger
    to signal he'd be back, then jogged off to his group of friends.
    I sighed as i got closer and closer towards the cheerleaders,
    realizing I would soon be passing them.
    Megan spotted me and smirked.
    "Hey Raina!" she called out.
    Well, that's not normal. I nodded at her,
    wanting to swear at her but holding myself back as i usually do.
    "Ow!" I fell to the ground suddenly, scraping my arm.
    Confused, I looked back to find that the h/e had her foot stuck out in front of her.
    My eyes narrowed to slits. I was so sick of this, some days I
    wished I wasn't so afraid of getting in trouble and would do something to defend myself.
    She and her friends burst out laughing. I felt a hand all of a sudden
    grab mine and pull me up in one swift move. Noah stood there glaring at
    Megan, her smirk fading. "Noah babe, hey!" She smiled seductively at
    him, strutting up to him and draping her arm around his shoulders.
    "Don't worry about this loser, she's just a stupid klutz." He rolled his eyes as he untangled her arms around him, and dropped them to her sides.
    "F//k off Melissa," He spat.
    Walking away from her, he motioned with his head for me to follow,
    leaving her standing there fuming and shocked.
    I walked with him, all the while dying of laughter.
    He grinned a little. "I got her name wrong, didn't I?" I nodded, not able to speak. He chuckled, before suddenly turning serious.
    "But honestly, you're not going to go through your last of high school like this."
    I rose an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
    He smirked.
    "We're going to show everyone in this school who you really are."

    Chapter Four
    After that day which had practically changed my life forever,
    you could say I was viewing life a bit differently.
    For once in quite a while, I had something to be excited about; I was curious as to what Noah Montes had to offer.
    Honestly, a part of me was expecting to be let down as I've always been in my life.
    But the hopeful part of me waited in anticipation for what was to come,
    actually believing that maybe, just maybe, this boy could change my perspective on life completely.
    But I was used to being disappointed, so I wouldn't let myself feel too much hope just yet.
    The next morning, I walked to school as usual.
    And when I arrived at the front of that torturous building I'd like to think
    was more like a prison than a school, I saw him.
    He stood beside a silver BMW, looking all casual, calm, and model-like.
    I'm not even kidding. He smirked at me, sauntering over to walk beside me.
    Some people looked at us curiously, probably wondering what
    little old me, Raina Mayers, was doing walking
    with the school's hot troublemaker.
    "Hey," He greeted with that husky voice of his. I smiled a bit.
    "Shouldn't you be worried about your rep being ruined
    walking with a nerd like me?"
    He shrugged, wearing a lazy grin on his face. "Reputation's are so mainstream."
    I laughed, but that soon died down as we headed towards the front doors,
    where we would pass by them.
    "What?" He asked, confused at my sudden change of mood.
    I sighed. "You'll see."
