Blown Away <3
Chapter 6
I woke up Saturday to the sound of Andrea and Kaitlyn whispering.
"Hey guys!" I said cheerfully. They both said hey to me
and we all finally got out of bed at 10. We went downstairs and
Kaitlyn's mom was making a huge breakfast for us. After we ate
we went back upstairs and hung out until I went home at 4. I walked
into my house and suddenly wished I was at Kaitlyn's. It was
freezing and I could tell my mom hadn't paid any bills. We
obviously needed electricity and heat so I went to my compartment
behind the wall and pulled out my money. I suddenly noticed my
Cinderella book and started to pick it up. I noticed and envelope
in the book. It felt kinda heavy and there was money and a
note. (just now noticed this is kinda like a Cinderella story Hehe)
My heart stopped. I looked at the note and I started crying. Since
my dad died I figured he didn't love us because he left my
family to fend on its own. I remember my dad's last words:
"I love you Kaitlyn, please continue to read this story."
Now, I understand why he said that. I grabbed the cash and pulled
out the compartment. I counted the money I had saved up and it came
out to $2,048! Then I counted the cash my dad left us. It totaled
out to $20,000! I started to cry really hard. I knew my dad had
money but I didn't know he had done this. I looked up the
electric company and the heating company in the phone book. They
were right next to each other about 4 blocks away. I grabbed $2,000
and headed out the door. In case I got robbed I stored some cash in
my shoe, some down my bra, some in my pockets, some in my socks and
a little in my purse.
I got to the electric company and paid what we owed, $200. Then I
went to the heating company and paid that $400. Since I hated my
house I decided to make it nice. Since I was downtown, I fond a
flooring store and set up and appointment for next Saturday for
flooring to be installed in our home. I then went to Verizon and
bought myself a cell phone, using my mom as the guardian. I went to
a thrift store and bought some stuff for the kids and also bought a
house phone. I was extremely proud and with that, I walked
home.
*** Not the best chapter but I had to get the basics
down.
