Untold Story: Part
3
We went downstairs and I grabbed my brown Northface, wallet and
keys. Bekah got her purple Northface and keys and we headed
outside. A cold winter breeze smacked me in the face as I climbed
down the front steps. Bekah unlocked her orange Mini Cooper and
grabbed her wallet from the glove compartment, and then we hopped
into my dark grey Altima.
It was only
12:00 so the mall had just opened an hour ago and was still
fairly empty. We headed for the nearest department store,
Macy’s. We wandered over to the dress section and perused
the dresses. Bekah and I each picked three dresses to try on. I
had a purple strapless bandage wrap dress, a black and white
sleeveless bubble dress, and a royal blue one that was tight at
the torso and then flowed out at the hips. Bekah had a black
scoop neck dress with short sleeves, a bandage dress that was a
brighter purple than mine that had little short sleeves with a
scoop neckline filled in with black lace, and a royal blue scoop
neck elbow length sleeve tight mini dress. Then we headed
to the dressing rooms. The first dress I tried on was the royal
blue one, I didn’t quite like the way it fit me, so I
stepped out of the dressing room and asked Bekah what she
thought. She was wearing the black scoop neck one and she looked
amazing.
“Wow! That
looks really good on you!” I exclaimed. I really did like
it but she was skeptical. She also agreed that the dress I had on
was not my best pick so we stepped back into our dressing rooms.
Next I tried on the black and white sleeveless bubble dress. I
really liked it but it wasn’t quite fancy enough for this
party. I stood in front of the three panel mirror outside the
dressing rooms and waited for Bekah. She came out in the bright
purple bandage dress with lace on the neckline. I gasped. It was
gorgeous on her!
“Oh. My.
Gosh. That is the dress you are getting I don’t care what
the other one looks like on you.” She looked amazing in
this dress and I wasn’t about to let her pass it
up.
“Okay,
okay but can I at least try it on?” she asked
laughing.
“Fine, if
you must” I retorted, “how do you like this?” I
asked her spinning around in my bubble
dress.
“It’s nice, but I don’t
know if it’s fancy enough...” she said in a
questioning tone.
“That’s what I thought, but maybe
I can get it for another occasion?” I really liked the
dress and I was hoping she wouldn’t think that it was a
ridiculous idea to get two dresses.
“I guess
so, how much is it? If it’s over $100 then you should get
it another time when you need it” Bekah was always thinking
smart and that’s why I loved to bring her shopping with me,
she always knew how to deal with my spending crises. It turned
out that the dress was only $75 so I ended up getting it as well
as the light purple bandage dress. Bekah got the purple bandage
dress with the black lace and we headed to the nearest
DSW.
