Friday Afternoon 
 

Stacey was going to spend another night at my house. I was mad at her, yes, but she needs my help. Although I'm still not speaking to her.
As we were walking home, my phone rang. I looked at the caller ID.

"Hello?" I answered. I had no idea who it was.
"Hi, it's Josh," they answered.
"Oh," I said. My voice showed no positive emotion, considering there was none.
"Wanna do something later?" he asked.
"Not really, no."
"Why?"
"Because," I answered. "Jack is already harassing me, and if he finds out his best friend is with me, he'll kill both of us."
"What are you talking about?" he asked. "Jack is harassing you?"
"Yes," I said. "But don't tell anybody!"
"Vanessa this is serious," he replied. "Can I come over please? We can talk."
I felt strangely protected by his concern.
"Sure," I said brightly. "59 Baker Street. I'm looking forward to it."
