FINAL CHAPTER
"What about us?"
I knew what was coming, and I most definitely liked it. He was
going to ask me out. He opened his mouth, and closed it again.
"You're a really great best friend."
Oh. My stomach dropped. Was that all?
"...annnnnnnd?"
"And...I wanted to know if you'd like to go out with
me."
I literally screamed on the top of my lungs.
"WOOOOHHH!"
"So should I take that as a yes?"
"You most definitely should take that as a yes."
"Good, because I've been wanting to do this for a long
time."
"Do wha-"
He kissed me before I could finish my sentence. I think I've
ever been kissed like that. Ever. Not even Jake could top that
off.
Shitt, Jake.
Speaking of, I got a text from him.
Jake: im sorry.
Me: me too. we'll always be friends.
Jake: good. maybe that was how it shouldve been
from the start.
I didn't answer back because I agreed. It's good to know
that I have him as a friend. My life was almost perfect. I
just had to fix things with Maci and Jen.
I three-way called them after I got home.
"Hello?"
"Hello?"
"Hey, Maci, Jen.."
"What's up?"
"Nothing. But I have to talk to you guys. Think you can come
up here for a few weeks?"
"Sure. Come outside."
Confused, I walked outside and looked around. I turned toward the
pool when I heard a splash. Jen and Maci were here, in my pool.
My toothy smile stretched so far, my cheeks started to hurt. Life
was going my way.
I noticed Jen's glasses were gone.
"Contacts?"
"You know!"
"Beautiful, Jen."
We all hugged, like in a movie. We all sat by the pool, side by
side by side by side. Sunglasses, bikinis, and best
friends. I think my new life was going to be
perfect.
