*** i was in my kitchen, making myself some lunch. my 8-year-old sister had a few of her friends over. one of them walked over to me, and tugged on my sleeve. i turned around and faced her. she looked at me with admiring eyes, and she said

"you're so beautiful." 

i stopped and
stared at her for a second, and then she went on.

"you could be a model. you're not that bad kind of skinny, either - your a good kind of skinny. those models, they're like toothpicks. they're not real. but your real, and real is the 
most beautiful of them all."
