part thirteen
Brandon and I kept walking and giggled all the way to the park. We forgot about going to my house because we were too preoccupied by our random conversations and cute looks we were giving each other. We sat down on the same swings where just a few days ago he told me he liked Sarah. Stupid me believed him! I forgot about Sarah and her little sneaking ways, because Brandon was mine now and I had everything I needed.
I held onto his swing rope and he held onto mine, it brought us closer. I kicked my feet around in the sand under the swings and Brandon played with his necklace from American Eagle. The silence wasn't awkward at all, it was comfortable.
I was staring at his hand when I noticed he was wearing a watch. I suddenly came back to reality. "Shoot! Brandon what time is it? I have lacrosse tryouts later! I can't miss it!!!"
"Woah Tayl, it'll be okay. Its 3 o'clock. Aren't your tryouts at 4? We'll walk home now and you can eat and get changed in time. Let's go!"
We walked back to my house which was only two blocks away from the park. I ran up to my room and he stayed in the kitchen, making me mac and cheese. The kind that goes in the microwave. I put on my favorite pink sports bra with a tee shirt over it, and black spandex with zebra soffe shorts. I threw my hair into a messy bun, washed off my make up and ran down the stairs.
He smiled at me and said, "You look beautiful with no make up. And I like your hair pulled back, I can see your gorgeous face." I giggled and he kissed me for a second until the microwave started doing its annoying beeping.
BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. "I guess I should get that." Brandon said, reaching into the microwave and pulling out a little bowl filled with craft mac and cheese. Yum.
I ate and then a few minutes later my mom pulled into the drive way. Instead of coming inside she honked the horn and yelled, "HONEY! LET'S GO! YOU HAVE LACROSSE!!!" She would do that, but you gotta love her. I kissed Brandon goodbye, grabbed my water bottle and ran out the door.
"Good luck!!!" he said as he started walking back to his house. The entire ride to the field I was daydreaming. About Brandon of course.
