chapter 3
I walked down the road for what seemed like hours. As i kept walked, nothing appeared on the horizon beside the ever lasting dirt road. I was beyond confused. I had never seen that sort of terrain near where I lived- especially because I lived in the suburbs. My body still felt light as i walked in an almost hypnotic pattern; left, right, left, right...
-------
Just as I was about to take a short break, having no idea where i was going, a building appeared about a quarter of a mile away. I decided to walk towards it to see what it was. I got closer, and realized the building was very familiar. It was my school. Only, it wasn't on the corner of Cedar street, in-between the fire house, and the bakery. It just appeared in this deserted land. The grass formed a rectangle, and the school sat on top. All my classmates were mingling outside of school. The clock on top of the school read 7:15 am which was weird, since the sun looked like it was well up in the sky, at the position it would be at noon. As i stepped onto the grass from the dirt road, the sun suddenly bounced back, closer to the horizon; where it would be if it was 7:15 am. I could hear all the kids chatter; and followed them all inside as the bell rang and they shuffled to get to class. Like a normal day, i made my way to math. I arrived in class late, and as i walked in, not a head turned. Even the teacher didn't notice me coming in late. Ms.Roberts is usually the toughest when it comes to tardiness. My seat was taken, so i sat down in the back.
"Once you take the square root of 49, you'll have your answer. Any questions?"
Ms.Roberts voice echoed through the silent room. Math was boring, and I was so confused. I raised my hand to ask a question.
Ms.Roberts answered about 5 questions. My hand was getting tired from being raised so long. Why wasn't she answering my question?
"No more questions?" She asked, in her high pitched voice.
"Uhm, Ms.Roberts?" I asked, waving my hand back and forth to get her attention.
"Ok, lets continue with the lesson."
"Whatever," I mumbled. The lady was probably deaf anyway.
The bell rang, and we all stood up to say the pledge.
"Now its time for the morning announcements" The voice barked out through the speaker.
"Today we have a very important meeting for all staff members after school. Please see the flyers posted in front of the main office. As most of you may know, we've lost a student, classmate, and wonderful friend to everyone in Cedar Road High. It is so unfortunate, and we send our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Aimee Reynolds."
What the hell…
Thats me. I'm Aimee Reynolds! AND I AM NOT DEAD.
"WHAT!" I shouted. My face went pale and i started hyperventilating.
"Im not dead! Im right here!" I yelled, as loud as I could.
No one looked back at me.
"This is a huge mistake."
the plot will start to pick up i promise! the next chapter is one of my favorites :)!
