    Senior Year
    Chapter One
I woke up, startled, to the sound of my annoying alarm clock. 5:30am.
Today was the first day of my new school.
Usually, I would be insanely tired,
but today I was so nervous, there was no time to be lazy.
I had just moved to my new house here in Orlando, Florida. I was an only child, and my mom was a single parent, so work was important. Her job had transferred her here, and unfortunately, she couldn’t pass up this opportunity.
It would be different than my old home in Long Island.
I ran my fingers through my long, wavy, dark chocolate hair. I decided to straighten it, making sure it was perfect for the first day of my senior year at Ocean Crest High School.
Figuring out what to wear was difficult, but I decided to wear my Forever 21 yellow blouse that hugged my curves perfectly, some tight fitted, beige shorts, and my gold flip flops. It was still hot here in Florida, and it made my body look amazing, so this was a great outfit. I quickly did my makeup simple, light brown eye shadow, black eyeliner, and black mascara, to bring out my big hazel eyes, and light pink lip gloss from Victoria‘s Secret, to make my lips shiny.
For the first time in a while, I thought I looked great.
I walked downstairs to find my mother frying up some egg whites for me. She’d always make breakfast on the first day of school.
“Nikki! You look beautiful! I need to take your picture!”, she shouted excitingly.
“Thanks mom. I tried my best.”
“Well sweetheart, you look great. Here’s your breakfast”, she handed my a plate with two egg whites, a slice of tomato, and a piece of toast. My favorite. I ate in a hurry.
“It was great mom.”, I said with a smile, “I think I’m gonna go now, wish me luck!”
“Good luck honey! Have a great day! I love you so much Nikki.”
“I’ll try. I love you too mom.” I replied.
I walked out the door and got into my green Jeep Wrangler. I had got it for my
16th birthday last year. I waved goodbye and drove off to my new high school.
When I arrived, the school was overflowing with students. Mostly everyone had perfect tans, beachy hair, and looked like they’ve just finished surfing. I was the only one all dressed up, with my hair perfect, and major tan lines.
I looked around, and out of no where, a short, bleached blonde hair, bright blue eyes, and perfect tanned girl wearing a pink dress walked up to me.
“Hi! I can tell you’re new here. I’m Lindsay Johnson, president of Ocean Crest High. You are?”,
    she asked politely.
“Oh, hi. I’m Nikki Brooks, new girl of Ocean Crest High.”, I said with a small smile.
“Nice to meet you! You’ll have a great time here. What’s your first class?”
I looked at my schedule, “Hmm, biology with Mr. Peters.”
“No way! Me too! We can walk together.”, she sounded excited.
“Alright, sounds great!” I tried to sound as enthusiastic as her.
I looked around a little bit more. To my surprise, I saw a boy staring at me. He looked about my age, maybe a little older. His skin was the perfect shade of bronze, his eyes were a beautiful ice blue, and his hair was a shaggy, dirty blonde color. He was sitting at a table with some other guys and a few girls. Everyone around him was laughing and talking, but he just sat there in silence, with a small smirk on his face. I guessed they were considered the “popular crowd”. I turned to Lindsay, because I think
he realized I was staring back at him.
    “Hey, Lindsay?”, I asked.
    “What’s up, Nikki?”
“Who’s that guy sitting over there quiet in that group of people?”, I needed to know his name.
    “Hmmm..”, she looked around.
“Oh, that’s Luke Wellington. He’s a senior, like us. Cute, isn’t he? He doesn’t talk much, I cannever have a good conversation with him. He‘s kind of a jerk.”
    “Oh..”, I answered.
Luke Wellington. He was definitely cute alright. He was probably staring because I was new.
The first bell rang, time to get to homeroom. I wondered if Luke would be in one of my classes.
**should i continue? please comment. thankyou ♥
