My Absolutely, Positively, Messed Up Wonderful Life
When I opened the door Mr. Gomez (the principal), my parents, and my older brother looked towards me. "What'd I do?" I asked. When I looked closer, I saw that my mother, who was born in England, looked strangely optimistic, and wary at the same time. "Anya, darling, we're moving. To England."

I just stood there, listening, but not really hearing. We couldn't be moving, especially not to ENGLAND, where I wouldn't know anybody. Not away from my home, my friends, MEXICO!!! THIS was my home. And I wasn't going to leave without a fight.
"Anya, say something," my dad said, trying to get me to come out of my state of shock.
"What do you mean we're moving to ENGLAND!!!" my voice was getting louder, and louder, till I was shrieking at the end. "Anya, niña, please, calm down. It won't be so bad. I mean, since you're going to be going to a boarding school, you'll get the chance to-"my brother Drew foolishly made the mistake of telling me that I was going to be going to a fancy English boarding school. "BOARDING SCHOOL!!!!!" I screamed at my parents. "HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME!!! I CAN'T GO TO BOARDING SCHOOL!!!"
"Anya, we have to send you to St. Agustus', what with Drew going to Oxford, and you mother so incredibly homesick, well, you see, we had no choice." my dad said, trying to calm me down. Never in my life had my parents done something like this. They know how much I hate surprises, EVERYBODY knows that. I looked over at my mom, ready to explode at her, when I saw that she was crying. I immeidently felt guilty.
"Ama, don't cry, I-I'll go. To England."
She looked up at me with teary, but grateful eyes. "Oh Anya, my little angel. Thank you."
Even though I agreed to go, I wasn't going to be happy about it. "Looks like I'm going to have an absolutely, positively, messed up wonderful life."
