I'm just going to rant a little. It is not society that wanted this. It is not anybody who wanted this. However, anyone who ever felt like the had to lose weight for non health related issues contirbuted to this. Yes, I find myself guilty of that. But we all need to stop. Right now. The media, what we say, what we do, all of us just really need to sit down and think. Because if this attitude towards weight continues, so many people are going to have eating disorders, including young children. It's disgusting. So please,I beg of you, make a poledge with me, okay? Promise yourself that you are going to do your best to have a little more confidence in yourself. You don't need to be oozing self-esteem or be a an airhead. Just try and find ten good things about yourself every time you look in the mirror, and if youcan't do that, ask someone to point them out to you.
Weight and beauty have different definitions. It's time we realized that.

pinched your skin, trying to figure out how to get rid of all that fat?
absentmidedly counted calories, because it's all you do?
skipped a meal or two, because you're scared of gaining back all that weight you lost?
stepped on the scale multiple times throughout a day, praying that number will go down?
vowed never to drink a single beverage with calories in it, since you don't want to risk it?
wrinkled your nose at snacking, since you now despise food?
tried to get better, convince yourself that those calories will go straight through you?
hated yourself for letting those insecurities get the best of you?

You have no idea how much of a relief it is for me to say that. Months ago, I was starting my downward spiral and then hit rock bottom. Today, I told my mom why I needed to go get help in the frist place. And want to know what she did? She told me she was glad I felt like I could talk to her, and she told me she loved me. She didn't become velcro, which was my worst fear. Today, I had two pieces of cake and didn't care. Whereas a month ago I wouldn't have even ate one piece of cake and still would've felt disgusting. My life is truely blessed, and I'm finally starting to realize it. Yes, I do still want to lose weight, yet now, I won't starve. I finally feel marvelous, and I can finally ignore people when they point to me and whisper. Scratch that, I'm not okay.
