Chapter 2
On Monday me and Logan went to the tryouts there was so many people who wanted to try out Katherine was there I cant believe she was really going to try out. About, six people went before us only 2 out of the six got in. Then it was mine and Logan’s turn I wasn’t nervous at all surprisingly. We went up there and when we started singing it was only I and he upstage no one else watching us. By the time the song ended I was already sweating we danced and sang so much. Mrs. Jayden looked stunned and said “looks like we have our new lead singers!” and we smiled at each other and he gave me a hug a soon as we walked out of the auditorium. Logan and I decided not to bother our parents and just walk home. As we were walking his arm lightly brushed against mine and I smiled every time it did. It was a long way home and we stopped at the ice cream shop to buy some ice cream. We got ice cream and started walking home again. He then said “Man, this is taking a long time”
“Yeah, and I’m not a man, sorry.” He laughed and looked at me. I scrunched my face up and then we both started laughing. “This is fun”
“Mhm” I replied and then he slowly slid his hand down my arm and slipped it into my hand. We held hands for the longest time his hand was so warm. Mine started sweating so I gently let go of his hand and wiped on my pants. “Is something wrong?” he asked me. “No, my hand was getting really sweaty though” and as I looked up at him. Oh, god everything happened so fast, I tripped on a crack the sidewalk had and he reached out to catch me and grabbed my breast. I quickly stood up and he was so red he said quickly “I’m so sorry I didn’t mean it really” “I, I, I” I stuttered “it’s okay” I finally managed to choke out. “really I didn’t” he kept saying over and over. I finally got tired of it and stopped him and hugged him. He hesitated but then managed to return the hug. “I said it was okay” I whispered in his ear. He looked at me and blushed. We walked in silence for almost all of the way and then I finally decided to do the same thing he did. We were holding hands and he looked at me and he had this look in his eyes. “Please,” I whispered “don’t let this ruin our friendship.” I thought he didn’t hear me at first and then he said “it won’t I promise I just wish that………….it had never happened, I mean I’ve never had a girlfriend before I’m really shy around girls and I saw something in you that it made it easy to talk to you, and I really like you it’s just that touching you doesn’t seem right it’s like I invaded your privacy”
“you sound as if you did something so horrible, I promise you, you didn’t you saved me from getting a big bump in my forehead”
He laughed and then he relaxed “I think we should start walking again”
“It’s not far just a block away”
“Oh”
“Yeah, you know what I would really enjoy.”
“What?”
“Going to the swings like I used to when I was 5”
“Race you!”
Logan took off running and I raced behind him. We almost got to the swings when I tripped again and fell but I managed to catch myself with my hands.
“Are you okay?” Logan asked. “I’m fine” I said lying down in the grass. “two times, already god what’s wrong with me?”
“You’re clumsy.” Logan said looking down on me. I patted the grass beside me and he got down on his knees and then he laid beside me. He grabbed my hand and gave it a squeeze. I squeezed his hand back and I looked at him and smiled, he smiled back at me and we lay there looking at the sunset. I got home like about 7:30.
