she used to be my best friend.
& everyday when i'd talk to her, it would be like walking on glass, or thin ice.
she used to punch me everytime i made a joke, but everytime she did the same thing to me,
suddenly i was the bad guy for standing up to her.
one day she flipped out on me for virtually no reason.
it only took that one instance to drive me over the edge,
and it made me realize how stupid i was for being her puppy for the last three years.
i also realized that she lost all of her friends when she lost me.
(it sounds conceited, but it is absolutely true)
now, everything she does annoys me, and it makes me wonder how i could have ever
been her friend or have let her walk on me like that.
my friends completely agreed with me, too.
one told me that she was only nice to her because we had been so close.
my mother told me that it was like i had been under her spell.
another friend scolded me because i had worked so hard to make her happy.
and i looked back, and agreed with them completely,
because they were always my real friends.
the moral of the story?
you can't step on people who put their trust on you.
you can't take them for granted, or abuse them, because they can just as easily walk away
and realize how much better they are without you.
