   The new me.
   chapter five.
   An hour after he left, I went through my numbers, texting his. "Hi there."
   I felt a smile take over my face as I heard my phone go off. "Hey there Koda."
   We sent text messages, back and fourth until 2 in the morning. "I should get to bed, I'm grumpy in the morning."
   He replied. "See you in school. :]"
   Falling asleep was so difficult. Why was it so difficult? I just met this boy, and I'm already not able to sleep?
   This is rediculous. But I just kept smiling, and even tually, I just hear my alarm go off.
   I get up, and jump in the shower. Shampoo getting in my eyes.
   "Koda get u-!" I heard my brother start to yell, and then a quick, "Nevermind!" at the end.
   I decided to let my hair dry naturally today, was in too good of a mood to concentrate on my hair.
   I applied some makeup, and brushed my teeth. "Bro, I think I might take a quick walk before we leave." He nodded.
   "Meet me up at the car." I reached into my pocket to find my phone, and Smiled. One text. "Goodmorning."
   I waited by the car, it was a slow morning. We were off, and I was dropped off.
   Walking in the hallways, people stared at me, snickering, and smiling. "That's the new girl."
   Another text popped up. "I'm near your locker, meet me?"
   I walked to my locker, but I didn't see him anywhere, I didn't see anyone.
   I looked down at my phone, texting back. "No..? But I'll see you later." I put the phone in my pocket, and looked up.
   A sudden warmness hit my face, it was a hand. "And this is for texting my boyfriend."
   I turned away, embarrassed. Jace tried to grab my wrist, but I got out of grip.
   I wanted to be home, and I knew I couldn't just ask for a ride. I needed to walk.
   The doors slammed behind me, and I ran through the lot.
   It would be 15 minutes until I got there, and I was not stopping.
   I could faintly hear yelling. "KODA." I kept running, and out oof nowhere, I stopped, and turned around.
   I walked right up to those steps, and into the doors. I sprinted down the hall, and smiled at the girl that hit me.
   "What's so funny? Did you come back for your dignity?"
   I lifted my head, and swung my fist into her face. "Actually, I am."
   I smiled, and walked away toward the bathroom to gather what I had just done.
   I walked out, and people clapped. I seen Jace's face, and he just looked shocked, wakling up to me.
   "Where did you learn?" I smiled and tossed my hair back.
   "I have an older brother that I had to share a room with, you just learn."

   "How much longer till the bell rings?" I asked. Jace laughed, "Wait for it."
   A few minutes later, the bell rang and I explained to Jace that I had to go to the office. "I'll be out in front."
   In the office, there was a camera guy, and he smiled. "You eady to smile?" I nodded. "One step ahead of you."
   The picture looked awesome, and I smiled. "Whe will I get the ID?" They said, "tomorrow." Wow, quick huh?
   I ran out, poking Jace on the shoulder. "Ready Freddy?" He asked in a kid's voice.
   "Let's go!" He ran to his truck like a little kid. I opened the door, and got in, and he burped loudly.
   "Nice." I said, laughing. He looked over at me, "Where to?"
   "Uhm, You know that big house by the trees on the beach?" He smiled. "I do, actually."
   I was confused, but didn't want to show it. "There." I said, pointing. "I know.." He exclaimed.
   No one was home yet, and I was happy about that. "Calla!" My dog ran up to me, as I entered the door.
   "How's my good girl doing?" She rolled over on her belly, and instantly ran to Jace.
   "Hey puppy!" He said, petting her. Her tail was wagging out of control, and I smiled. "She likes you."
   He cocked his head to the side. "You don't say?" I blushed.
   "You have any other pets?" I nodded. He smiled. "A kitty cat? Bunny?" I shook my head. "Wanna come see?"
   I ran up the stairs, Jace following behind me. "Nice house." he said, reachint he top of the stairs, out of breath.
   "It's my brother's." I said, opening the door to my room. "Ready to see the lair?" He nodded.
   "Okay, but be warned." He walked in, and his jaw dropped. "D-dude. Freaking SWEET." I smiled.
   "Meet Luna, my other pet." I could tell he wasn't expecting a snake, he jumped a little.
   "What? She's just a little snake." He laughed, pointing at it. "That, is Godzilla's baby."
   I fell to the bed, laughing. "Okay, let's get out of here." I grabbed my cellphone, and put it in my pocket.
   "Beach?" I nodded. "Still haven't even went down there yet."
   We walked down with Calla and sat on the sand watching her play in the water.
   Jace turned to me, "So, are you like...closet awesome?" I laughed, with an eyebrow arched.
   "I mean, like you have a freaking snake, you have some pretty B.A. posters, and a gaming station."
   I shrugged, and smiled. "So..?" He stood up and laughed. "You never met a girl who liked that stuff?"
   He half smiled again, looking into my eyes. "Not any pretty girls, not like you."
   I blushed, I didn't really know what else to do, normally in this situation in movies and what not, they would kiss.
   Now now, just awkward silence, and red cheeks. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to.." I smiled, and touched his arm.
   "It's fine.." My phone started to ring, and I picked it up. "Hello?" It was my brother.
   "Okay, I'll be right there....I gotta go home, I'm sorry." He took my phone, putting his number in it.
   "Text me in an hour? I can't text and drive."

   chapter three.
   The rest of the class went pretty slow, and for the most part everyone seemes nice.
   I walked out of the class, and looked around at all of the lockers. I didn't notice I was still in front of the classroom.
   The guy standing behind me, spoke up. "Excuse me, I need to head to my next class." I blushed.
   "Sorry..Just trying to look around." He half smiled. Gah, no, don't stop. Adorable!
   "You have no idea where you are going, do you?" I shrugged.
   "My old school was pretty small, and we never had lockers." The bell rang, and he sighed.
   "Well, we're already late. Lets find you your class, shall we?" I smiled.
   "Lead the way sir." He looked at my paper, and started to laugh. "What?"
   He pointed at it. "We have these classes together. I was late for nothing. haha!"
   I giggled."Isn't that something?" We walked to the gym class, and he waved me over with him.
   "These are the guys. Tray, John, Tony, and ofcourse we have Mark. OH and I'm Jace."
   I smiled. "Tray, John, Tony Mark and Jace. Hi I'm Dakota, but my family calls me Kota."
   They bowed. "So...noone is doing anything, when do the "games" begin?"
   Jace laughed. "You actually did stuff at you Gymnasium at school?" I nodded.
   "WOW. Our teacher's don't care much aboout fitness, we do what we want." I smiled.
   "You guys want to play ball?" They looked at me with googley eyes. "Catch?"
   I laughed and grabbed a basketball. "Not exactly." and threw the ball at Tray.
   They all smile, and cheered. I put my hair back in a loose ponytail. "Game on."
   Mark and Jace were on my team. "Who's blocking Tray?" I razised my hand. "I will!"
   Jace laughed, as if I couldn't. "You sure?" I nodded, insisting. "Okay, Kota's got Tray."
   Class was almost over, and Our team needed one score to win. Tray was dribbling the ball down the court.
   I ran up behind him, and stood in front of the net. He shoots...and Almost....nope. I knocked the ball back, Jace caught it, and threw it and got it in the net! I smiled, as the class cheered us on. Some guys in the back of the crowd smiled.
   "Girls got game." I let my hair loose, and ran over to Jace with my fist out. "Good game?"
   The guys all at once cut in. "Good. Game."
   Jace pulled me to the side. "Where.." I cut him off. "Used to play on my old school's team."
   He laughed, out of breath, red cheeks. "Other girls play like you?" I shook my head. "Guys team."
   His face lit up. "You're just freaking awesome!" I giggled, and shrugged.
   The bell rang for next class, and he grabbed my wrist, holding me back. "What are you doing after school?"
   I smiled, blushing. "Thought I would go home, feed my dog, and then browse town." He smiled.
   "Wanna hang with me?" I smiled, even bigger. "Sure."
   How could I pass this up? He's adorable!

   The new me.
   chapter two.
   The mall was huge, not like anything I have ever seen before.
   I didn't even know where to begin, Carol was asking where I shopped.
   "I don't really...shop. I normally just wear what my friend's gave me." She looked shocked.
   "We will find you something nice." I wanted to change my wardrobe a bit, I wanted to be slightly different, make some changes, and by the end of the day she found me a lot of nice things.
   Shorts, skinnyjeans for rainy days, tanktops, and shirts, and a whole lot more. Sandals, and heels, she even bought me a bag.
   "You know...I don't need all this stuff-" She cut me off. "Never you mind, we're giving you a makeover." I sighed.
   What was wrong with the wy I was? I mean, don't get me wrong I love the things she got me, they just weren't my style.
   "Hair salon shall we?" I nodded. I would love for my hair to be done nicely.
   "This one would be nice." I said, pointing to the picture I saw in the book. They trimmed, and they dyed.
   And before you knew it, I had beautiful layered hair, with blonde dyed underneath, and in my bangs.
   I liked it, it wasn't something I would do on my own, but I liked it.
   I asked them to dye the blonde parts a light blue.
   "You look fantastic!" Carol yelled. "Now to just, go buy you some makeup!"
   I froze. "I don't wear makeup." She siled. "Honey bee. I'll teach you how to put it on, and not apply too much."
   I wasn't worried about that, I didn't want to look older than I already was. But trying makeup out would be fun.
   We finally got home, and My brother dropped his jaw. "Koda! Your hair! Your Clothes!"
   I smiled. "I guess it looks good?" He nodded. "You look great!"
   "I'm going to teach her how to put on makeup!" Carol squeeled. He looked at me as if saying...
   "You're okay with this?" I nodded, and shrugged. "Trying something new."
   By 10pm the next day, I had the makeup thing down, and I was ready for school tomorrow.
   I was too nervous and excited to sleep, but finally passed out.
   "Wake up, school day." I popped out of bed, and ran into my bathroom to take a shower.
   I was used to my father waking me up an hour before I had to leave.
   I was ready, and had on a pair of blue shorts, with a black and blue striped tanktop, sandals, and my makeup on, and hair curled. I was surprised when I went downstairs and my brother said I had to wait for him to get ready.
   He worked at a dealership by the school. I laughed. "I'm so used to.." He nodded. "I know."
   An hour passed, and We were finally in the car, driving. "I'm so nervous!" He smiled. "Don't worry. it's a nice scchool."
   I arrived, and headed into the office. "Hi, I'm Dakota Fletcher." They handed me a schedule, and showed me to class.
   "Have a good day, and stop by after school to get your picture taken for your photo School ID."
   Yay. Biology. I walked into class and the teacher introduced me, and pointed to a seat.
   "Now class, back to work while I gather miss Fletcher's books."
   I sat there looking around cthe room. The girls were giggling, and doing their work together. The boys were talking about videogames, and fist bumping. I waited patiently for the teacher to come back, I wanted atleast something to do.
   And then she walked in with a hard textbook, and a notebook.
   I looked at her, and smiled. "I'm going to need a bigger bag, huh?" She laughed. "You have a locker."
   I never had a locker before.

   chapter one.
   I've been sitting by my window for about 3 hours now, waiting for my left to end.
   My big brother Nelson, he's taking me to live with him until I'm old enough to live on my own.
   He lives on the west coast, I'm nervous to see how the beach life is.
   My name is Dakota, my family calls me Koda. I have long, naturally light brown hair.
   My eyes are a light green color, and I love them. I used to be over weight, I sarted to join sports teams at school to help with that though, and now I'm the correct weight. I'm not the girl you would picture on sports teams, I'm different.
   I listen to Green day, and I wear sneakers. I would need to get used to living in a rich town, I'd need to change.
   My brother finally showed in the driveway, and my father helped him carry my luggage out. "Koda!"
   I ran down the stairs, grabbing my father into a hug. "I'll call you everyday!"
   I love my father, but he isn't fit to be a dad. He's never home.
   I had to beg my brother to let me take my two pets, he finally agreed.
   "Come on, it's just a snake, and a dog, it's not that bad." He laughed.
   If your snake eats Henna's Hamster, she will be so mad." Henna is my niece.
   "She wont! She rather mice." I had a regular foot long ball python, she was my first pet. And my dog? Her name is Frailey.
   She's a German Shepherd. She is only a year old.
   Getting into the car was the hardest, and paying for the pets to be shipped? That would be fun. The hour ride to the airport, that was boring. Nothing but silence, and looking out the window. The pets would be okay, as long as they were asleep.
   Getting on the plane was scary, I've never been on one before, but after a while it was fine. I just slept the whole way there. We arrived to the airport at about 3 in the morning, and I was exhausted. We picked up our luggage, and the pets, and drove to his house. I never realised this from the pictures but his house was huge.
   "I know you probably don't want to hear this, but you start school on Monday."
   I groaned. "That's two days away, I'll worry about it then." I smiled, running into the house, accidentally setting off the alarm. "Sorry bro! I forgot." He put in the code and laughed. "You are just lucky Henna isn't here haha."
   My dog ran in sniffing the house, and my brother gave me directions to my room. I loved it. Big bed, walk in closet, and my own bathroom. The dresser was already there, so I set my snake's tank down on it.
   Put up my posters, set up my xbox and PS3 to the Tv, and smiled. "I could get used to this."
   My brother's wife came in around 8, asking if I wanted waffles. "YEAH!" I ran down the stairs, only to see my niece.
   "Auntie Koda!" She hugged me. I ran into the kitchen, eating my waffles, and his wife, Carol looked at me.
   "Let's take you shopping!" I swallowed my last bite.
   "Shopping?"
