The new me.
chapter one.
I've been sitting by my window for about 3
hours now, waiting for my left to end.
My big brother Nelson, he's taking me to live with him until
I'm old enough to live on my own.
He lives on the west coast, I'm nervous to see how the beach
life is.
My name is Dakota, my family calls me Koda. I have long,
naturally light brown hair.
My eyes are a light green color, and I love them. I used to be
over weight, I sarted to join sports teams at school to help with
that though, and now I'm the correct weight. I'm not the
girl you would picture on sports teams, I'm
different.
I listen to Green day, and I wear sneakers. I would need to get
used to living in a rich town, I'd need to change.
My brother finally showed in the driveway, and my father helped
him carry my luggage out. "Koda!"
I ran down the stairs, grabbing my father into a hug.
"I'll call you everyday!"
I love my father, but he isn't fit to be a dad. He's
never home.
I had to beg my brother to let me take my two pets, he finally
agreed.
"Come on, it's just a snake, and a dog, it's not
that bad." He laughed.
If your snake eats Henna's Hamster, she will be so mad."
Henna is my niece.
"She wont! She rather mice." I had a regular foot long
ball python, she was my first pet. And my dog? Her name is
Frailey.
She's a German Shepherd. She is only a year
old.
Getting into the car was the hardest, and
paying for the pets to be shipped? That would be fun. The hour
ride to the airport, that was boring. Nothing but silence, and
looking out the window. The pets would be okay, as long as they
were asleep.
Getting on the plane was scary, I've never been on one
before, but after a while it was fine. I just slept the whole way
there. We arrived to the airport at about 3 in the morning, and I
was exhausted. We picked up our luggage, and the pets, and drove
to his house. I never realised this from the pictures but his
house was huge.
"I know you probably don't want to hear this, but you
start school on Monday."
I groaned. "That's two days away, I'll worry about
it then." I smiled, running into the house, accidentally
setting off the alarm. "Sorry bro! I forgot." He put in
the code and laughed. "You are just lucky Henna isn't
here haha."
My dog ran in sniffing the house, and my brother gave me
directions to my room. I loved it. Big bed, walk in closet, and
my own bathroom. The dresser was already there, so I set my
snake's tank down on it.
Put up my posters, set up my xbox and PS3 to the Tv, and smiled.
"I could get used to this."
My brother's wife came in around 8, asking if I wanted
waffles. "YEAH!" I ran down the stairs, only to see my
niece.
"Auntie Koda!" She hugged me. I ran into the kitchen,
eating my waffles, and his wife, Carol looked at me.
"Let's take you shopping!" I swallowed my last
bite.
"Shopping?"
