it happens just once in a while
but i do know have the capability to love myself
i love myself when i am in my room drawing or writing
i love myself when i'm the only one home & can blast my music as loud as i want. i love myself when i study hard and the work pays off and i get a good grade.
i love myself when i can finally play a song i've been working on on an instrument
i love myself most when i am alone.
but people;
people, more often than not,
find a way to crash my party
someway, somehow.

some days i want wear a ton of pink and frilly dresses, and always have perfectly curled hair with nice makeup. i want to own a bunch of high heels and have a fresh manicure every week with a different purse for each season.
other days i want to wear a bunch of baggy plaid shirts and dye my hair all the colors of the rainbow. i'd wish i'd have 20 pairs of ripped jeans, a bunch of piercings, and wear doc martens and converse every day.
but most of the time
What I wear has no sense of coordination whatsoever, my hair looks the same almost every day, my nails usually look terrible, most of my shoes are either too plain or don't match anything, and my daily goal goes from looking 100% good to looking a step above "just got out of bed" within a matter of minutes.

i remember how annoying and stupid i thought the jonas brothers were and i didn't know why so many girls were obsessed with them back in 2006-2009
but when i first heard of justin bieber i thought to myself "he's probably going to replace the jonas brothers" and that's pretty much exactly what happened and now tbh i'd do anything to get our fellow jobros back

i don't know
his favorite color, or if he likes honey with his tea, or if he even likes tea. i don't know what songs he listens to when he's upset and i don't know what his favorite cereal is. but i do know his smile is amazing, and his laugh is really loud (but it's kind of like music to me), and his clothes are really simple but they look really cute on him, and he wears glasses sometimes and he looks beautiful with or without them. and i really wish i knew all these things, so i know what song to play for him when he's upset, and if he wants tea i wanna know if i should put honey in it (that is, if he likes tea) and what type of cereal to get for him when he wants some. but i'll never know, because i am the shy girl across the room who hides behind her hair and the sleeves of her hoodies, and glances at him when she thinks he's not looking (and he never is)
