It would be best to tell the truth. I know where you're coming from..I had the same problem..but its always best to tell the truth. He'll understand, and if he doesn't, he'll realize how much you mean to him and not want to lose you as a friend atleast :} Don't break it to him hard...but...break it to him. haha. Just tell him the truth. But if I had someone I was that close to, and not trying to sound mean here, but attractive, I would date them. (: but just tell him how you feel! reply

For some people, its eaiser to cop with phyiscal pain rather than mental. Therefore when feeling the mental pain they try and convert the pain to another place so they can forget about what hurts the most. Sometimes when people feel they've done something wrong they'll self harm because they want to punish themselfs because they might of done something not so nice to someone else so they belive they must say sorry by...cutting. we cut because its like a way to get away its the way we let everything out. some people do it to punish themselves too for ex. thwy think they're not good enough and they think that they're horrible so they cut to punish themselves for it. its mostly just a way to let out the pain because we dont think of it causing more pain we think of it as a way to let go get away and everything. reply

i have never done it, and i have made a promise to myself i never will, but i have had some friends who do try and explain it to me. for some it has to do with trying to block out the pain on the inside by inflicting pain on the outside. or for some other people its to feel alive and not so numb. some people do it to 'punish' themselves. it just depends on the person and situation. honestly though it shouldnt exist. </3 reply
