Where'd You Go?
Chapter 1
i took a look at the clock on top of the nightstand besides my bed.
It was 7:00 am on a Wednesday morning. Typical.
I got out of bed, and took off my pajamas.
I threw on a peace t-shirt, a pair of blue jeans and sneakers.
I went downstairs, expecting my mother to be sitting at the table.
Only, she wasn't there.
Oh well, I thought to myself, she must've gone to work early.
I grabbed a bowl and poured some cereal and milk into it.
I scarfed it down and went out the front door.
The car was still parked in the driveway.
This is getting weird, she always drives to work.
I walked down the road to school, it wasn't very far, so I just walked.
I walked into my first period, English, and took my usual seat next to my friends, Avril and Katia.
The rest of school went by pretty fast.
I didn't learn much though, the only thing on my mind was my mom.
As I was about to leave my last period, my teacher stopped me.
"Hold on, Ms. Wilson. Is everything ok? You haven't been paying much attention."
"Everything's fine," I lied.
"Alright, you may go home then."
I walked home, and opened the door.
It was still unlocked. My mom would notice an unlocked door instantly.
I searched around the whole house, but my mom was nowhere to be found.
There were no notes or signs either.
I grabbed my cellphone, and called the printing company, which my mom worked at.
"Hello, may I help you?" the operator said.
"I'm Jessie, Linda Wilson's daughter. I just wanted to know if she's at work right now?"
"No, she hasn't been here all day."
"Oh... Ok then. Sorry to bother you." I ended the call.
My face turned pale as I realized the truth.
Something happened to my mom.
And it was serious.
