Actually, you can't nail ice to a tree, because ice shatters. In the end you would be left with a pile of ice chips at the foot of a tree with a nail sticking out of the tree. reply

You can nail ice to a tree
And theoretically saying, ice is a form of water.
Just a solid, not a liquid.
