I was talking to my guy friend
Now this guy friend, he's like, best friend like a brother type of guy friend,
so he knows me really well. So we're talking and he goes
"Your still not over him yet are you?"
I tried to pretend that I was, but he didn't believe it.
"What are you talking about?Yes I am, its been like a month
since we broke up.
I'm fine."
"Really, I find that hard to believe.You don't smile anymore,
and I know your real laugh, the laugh that I hear in school, thats not
real. I see the tears building up when somebody says his name,
or when I bring him up. I bet you, if we weren't talking on aim and we were
talking in person, those same tears would be building up right now.
It doesn't matter how long it has been, it takes you a while to get
over guys, especially this one, after he went places with other
girls and ignored you;because he was chasing your best friend outside.
And you told me that whenever a girl says
"I'm fine"
to never believe her, because its a lie.
So do not tell me you're fine, because I know damn well that your not.
I know that your probably breaking down inside, especially after the other night
when you called me,in tears, at 2 in the morning,
because the pain of not having him hurt so much.
I'm not a stranger, I'm your best friend, more like your brother.
I know you better than your 8 year old sister knows you, so tell me the truth, never lie."
I was speechless.
"You're right, the laugh's fake, I want to cry whenever I hear his name or I see him,
it hurts me so much that he lied to me, and basically cheated on me. You're right, I'm breaking down inside because of him, and only you have noticed. Thank god I taught that to you, because if I didn't, I don't know what would happen..."
"I know, I know, don't worry. Stop i/ming me, I'm signing off,
picking up your favorite Ben &Jerry's ice cream and driving to
your house. You can eat all the ice cream, we'll watch a movie and you can
cry on me.See you soon."
Now that is a true friend
