Chapter Two
The first half of the day dragged on forever, but it was finally lunchtime. I walked to the caf with a bunch of people. I sat next to Skylar and across from Max. "Lexie, you should ask him to the dance." She said. The Christmas dance at our school was in 2 days.
"I would, but i don't want to ruin our friendship." I said, looking at him. He smiled that perfect smile and i think my heart melted.
"Ruin your friendship?" She asked seeming confused. I didn't want it to be awkward if he said no.
"You can go with me." Brady said, he always seemed to be listening in on every conversation.
"No thanks Brady, i'll just go alone." I laughed.
"Suit yourself." He got up from the table and went to talk to some stuck up freshmans at the next table over.
Finally December, tomorrow was the Christmas dance and i still didn't get the courage to ask him. If he really wanted to go with me, then he would've asked me.
I got ready for school and Ryan drove me. "Are you going to the dance tomorrow night?" I asked him.
"Nope, are you?" Ryan was a senior, so he spent as little time as possible at school.
"Yeah i am." I smiled. We were at school now.
"I better not hear about you dancing with any boys." He said as we walked into the school.
"Yeah whatever." Everyday was the same. My first two classes dragged on, lunch flew by and the rest of the day was just a blur.
I got home and went upstairs. I layed down in bed and grabbed my phone.
New Message from Max: wanna hang out tonight?
I layed there for awhile before texting him back, trying not to seem too desperate.
New Message to Max: sure. :D come over. :)
Max lived right next door. I heard him come in the front door and he was talking to my dad for a bit. "Hey." He said, walking into my room.
"Hi." I smiled. He came and sat next to me on the bed. "Are you going to the dance tomorrow?" I asked him.
"Yeah, why?" He asked.
"Just wondering." I got up off the bed and walked towards my closet. "Wanna help me pick a dress?" I asked him.
"Sure." He smiled. He sat on the edge of the bed as i tried on dress after dress. "I like that one." He said when i walked out wearing a purple tight strapless dress.
I rushed home after school, eager to get ready and go to the dance. Skylar was getting ready with me. I straightened my hair and did my makeup. "Hey Lexie, what are you wearing?" She asked doing up my necklace.
"Hold on, i'll put it on." I went into the closet and quickly put it on.
"You look hott." She said, laughing.
"Hey Ryan." I said in a tone that let him know i wanted something.
"What do you want?" He asked.
"Can you drive me and Skylar to the dance?" I smiled, and gave him some puppy dog eyes.
"I guess." He got the keys and we went out to the truck.
We got to the school and i saw Max outside. "Hey." I smiled, walking over to him.
"Hey." He said, kind of staring. "You look gorgeous." I think i started blushing instantly.
