Chapter 16
“Damn it!” I exclaim jumping up and moving up behind one of the guys fighting Matt and pulling his shoulder so he was facing me.
“I hope this hurts” I say as i punch him in the face.
“Hey remember the split jump” I say getting into position
“On it” he says before he starts talking to the one to our right so I turn to my left to the guy running towards us
“Ok ready, GO” yells Matt
on his signal I jump into the air lift my legs so I’m doing the splits while kicking out hitting both of them in the nose, hearing a crunch I grin knowing it was their noses and landing back down and without even looking at them I quickly walk past Matt but as I do I whisper
“Go to the door and lock it” he nods so that I know he heard and I go to Meagan and Alex
“Are you guys ok?” I ask they looked kind of shaken up
“Ohmigod!” exclaimed Meagan
“That was f*cking awesome” Alex screamed
“Yeah well it’s not over yet” I say carefully grabbing the gun from Alex and heading over to the door where my so-called father was trying to get away.
“Did you actually think I’d let you hurt my friends?” I ask walking up to him but he stays silent.
“Ohhhh not gonna talk are we maybe I should teach u a lesson!” I scream in his face
“Y-you wouldn’t” he stutters
“Oh I would but I think I’ll leave that to the police” I say hearing the car in the drive
“POLICE, COME OUT WITH YOUR HANDS UP!!!” we hear the police yelling not so far away.
“Well, go on” I said pushing him out the door
“OVER HERE” I yell out hoping they’d hear me
“What are you kids doing here?” asked what looked like the leader
“He is my father and he kidnapped us” I explain he gave me a quizzical look
“I was the one that put him in jail” when I said that realization flickered in his eyes
“Arrest him!” he orders one of his men
“Was it just him?” he asks
“Can someone help my friends out first?” I ask kinda wanting them safe
“Yes, yes of course, Mike take these guys out to the car please, get a statement while your at it” he directs him
“Yes sir, come on guys this way” he starts walking back down the hall
“You coming Zo?” Matt stops to ask
“No I’m going to help these guys out, I’ll be twenty minuets ok” I gave him a hug and started off for the door we came out of and had my gun up and ready
“What are you doing with a gun?” the ‘Leader’ asks
“Oh I got it off one of the men” I said and knowing the next question
“My cousins in sea patrol and he taught me to use a gun and got me a counseled gun license,” I explain kicking the guy that had punched my in the gut
“Did you defeat all these guys with your bare hands?” he asked astonished
“Yeah, Matt and I, we gave the gun to Alex and Meagan so they we safe but yeah all by ourselves” I said looking over my shoulder grinning.
“W-O-W” I heard from behind me
“What, I have an awesome cousin” I said kicking the same guy again before walking out the door up the hall and out the building straight to my friends sitting on the grass with Mike.
“Hey Mike can we go now?” I ask just wanting to get home
“Do you have someone who can pick you up?” he asks getting out of his car
“Um yeah I’ll call my cousin he’ll be able to pick us up,” I answer grabbing the phone from him.
Typing in the number I waited from Joey to pick up
Ringggggg Ringggg Ringggg
“Hey Zo wassup!” he answer enthusiastically
“Hey can you pick us up?” I ask hoping he’s home or at least in port.
“Yeah sure” he answered
“We’re at the old building out of town,” I told him
“Can I ask why?” I sighed I was going to have to tell him in the car anyway
“Dad” that was all I have to say to him.
“On my way” and he hung up.
I gave the phone back to Mike and sat down next to Matt
“Joey, will be here in a minuet” I said laying my head on Matt’s shoulder.
“Is that by any chance Joey Smith?” asked Mike
“Yeah, actually it is,” I say kind of expecting this
“Wow so that’s where you got your skills from?” he asked curious
“Yeah and duchy” I answer Joey had taught me how to use a gun and all that but duchy taught me self defense.
“So you know them,” he asks all these questions are kind of annoying but ya know you get used to it.
“yup the hole teams like family” I say as a car come into view.
“Come on guys he’s here” I say standing up
“And thx for your help” I said before I walk back over to Meagan and help her stand.
“ZOE!” I hear Joey yell he’s kind of like a big brother you know all the ‘don’t date, don’t do this, don’t do that’ he kind of took up that brotherly form when Jake passed away, it’s annoying but I love him.
“Hey are you ok?” he asks out of breath
“What happened?” he asks running up to me and picking me up in a big hug.
“Joey, I’m fine” I try to reassure him but he doesn’t let go
“Seriously can we just go home” I ask now just wanting to get home, get back to the place I feel most safe in maybe go to the cemetery and hang out with Jake.
“Ok, ok lets go, are you guys ok?” he asks the others
“Yeah we’re fine, nobody got hurt,” Alex answered for all of us putting his arm around Meagan’s waist....
