Lonely World Chapter 4
Veronica’s POV:
Turns out we have lunch together. “Hey do you want to sit with me?”
I thought about it. What would his friends say when they saw him with the loser girl, it would be best if I just sit alone.
“Umm, I don’t really want to intrude on you and your friends”
“Ha. What Friends”
Since we were early to lunch there are a lot of open table. He leads me over to one and we sit there in silence.
I think about what he said ‘What friends’. I know he moved here at the beginning of the year but I never bothered talking to him because I thought he would end up being one of the ‘popular’ people.
“You have Mr. Dice too.” I shot my head up, how did he know that?
I must have looked confused because he pointed to my book, “The book How to Kill a Mockingbird, he’s making us read it”
Wow I’m stupid. “Yeah, it is not the worst book in the world, it’s a little boring”
“Not as boring as Mrs. Anders, I swear she puts me to sleep” I laugh at that, she can be really boring.
Lunch continued to go on like that, just us talking, “So Ronnie I guess I will see you around” “Yeah I guess so”.
Eric’s POV:
The school day couldn’t have gone slower. I live pretty close to the school so I just walk home.
When I get home I go into my room and log onto facebook.
234 friend’s, yeah right. These were all people from my old school, we always said we would keep in touch but after the first month I was gone so were they.
I sigh and thought about my day, that girl Ronnie seemed cool.
I never really noticed her before but I guess she was like me, constantly getting bullied for no reason. Oh well.
Veronica’s POV:
After the school is done I get on my bus and put in my headphones trying to block out the rest of the world.
I stare out the window just thinking about my day. Why did Eric want to be friends with me?
I look at my arm and there is a huge bruise there. I poke it with my finger and flinch in pain.
I can’t do this much longer. I’m sick and tired of being the ‘freak’.
Once I’m home I open up my laptop and see a friend request. I click on it…
