She spotted us right away. "Hey girls! Mind if I eat with you all?" she asked. "Sure go ahead!" I said, being nice. She sat by Lynnette, and I tried my best to keep my left hand under the table. "So how are you all?" She asked, taking a sip of her tea. "I've been good." said Lynnette. "And you?" she asked me.
"Uhh.. Great" I said smiling. I was trying my best to hide it but me and the rest of the world know that is impossible for me to do. "How are you?" Lynnette asked, trying to break the akward silence. "Good.. Kinda been sad. I'm going back to California tomorrow. I decided I'd go out and spend a little time by myself just to get this feeling off my chest." She said. I looked around.
I finally couldn't hold it in anymore. "Look.. I have to tell you something.." I said. "Continue.." Mark's mom said, listening eagerly. "I'm engaged.." I said. She choked on the tea she was drinking. "Excuse me..?" She asked. "Yep.. I'm engaged.." I said, showing her my ring finger.
"It's with that little hick isn't it?" she asked, glaring at me. "He's no hick.. He's my fiance'.." I said, putting my hand in her face. "I'm sorry.. I didn't mean that by calling him a hick.. I'm just.. I just was expecting you and Mark to always be together" she said.
"It's fine but would you like to come to the wedding?" I asked. "Of course. When you know all the arrangements just give me a buzz." she said, getting up from the table. "Where are you going?" Lynnette asked. "I have to go.. I'll see y'all later.." she said.

My fiance' was outside, washing the horses when I walked outside. "Hey sweet girl" He said, as I walked outside. "I told my mom." I said. "And she said?" he asked. "She wants us to come to California so she can meet you." I said, smiling. "Better tell Lynnette.." He said. "Im going right now!" I said, running towards my car.
I called Lynnette. "Hello?" she said, answering. "I'm coming to pick you up." I said. "Okay.?" she said, confused. "Where are you?" I asked. "Dollar General." she said. "Meet me at Nukes." I said. I looked at the clock. It was 11:43. I hungup, and drove to Nukes. She was already sitting in the parking lot.
"Hey girl" She said, smiling. I threw my hand up. She jumped up and down, and hugged my neck. "Congrats!!!! Wait..It's with Lane right?" she asked. "Uhh yeah. Who else?" I asked. She smiled, and shrugged. We got a table, and then something very akward happened. Mark's mom walked in..

Lane went back to work, and I ran down the stairs to share the news with Mallory. "Congratulations sweet heart!" She said, kissing my cheek. "He's such a sweet boy.. If he treats you wrong you just tell me!" She said. I looked at the diamond ring on my finger, and I just couldn't believe it.
"Your mom know?" Mallory asked, petting Tabby. "Mom! I forgot!" I said, running upstairs for my phone. I got it and quickly dialed her number. "Mom?" I asked, when she answered the phone. "Hey sweet girl!" she said cheerfully. "I have some good news to tell you.." I said, smiling and admiring my beautiful ring. "Which is?" She asked.
"I'm engaged." I said, happily. "Oh my gosh! Since when?" she asked, crying happy tears. "Since just a few minutes ago! You know that guy I had told you about on the phone that was so sweet.. And had brought me on a few dates..?" I asked. "Yes." She said. "Him." I said crying happily.
"No tears sweetheart..This is a good thing" she said. "You need to meet him!" I said. "Come on out to California!" she said. "I think we just might! I'll ask him!" I said. "I'll let you go sweetheart.. I just pulled up at work.. I love you!" she said. "I love you too Mom" I said, smiling.

Chapter 34:
I wokeup, and found myself looking into a gorgeous set of blue eyes. Lane was laying beside me. "You kick in your sleep.." he said, laughing. I frowned. Oh crap.. I probably kicked him off..That'd be my luck.. He sat up up. "Where you going?" I asked. I'll be right back... He said, putting his jacket on, and then walking out the door. I huffed, and then decided to get up and take a shower. I probably looked like crap, considering that I slept in my makeup.
I ran some water and hopped in. I got out and looked at my face. "Good.. No acne.." I said to myself. I put a little yellow sundress on, and a brown belt on, with some brown flip flops. I almost walked down the stairs, but then I heard voices from the living room. I sat quietly on the top step, listening.
"Should I?" he asked Mallory. "I think you should, but that's your choice.." Mallory replied. "Wish me luck." He said. I heard the floor board creak, so I ran to my room, fast. I pretended to be doing my hair, when he walked in. I looked up from the mirror, and smiled. "Hey wassup.?" I asked.
He looked in the mirror at me, and smiled. "What is it?" I asked. He got on his knees. I almost cried. I knew what was coming. "Krissy this time with you has been amazing..And I couldn't imagine spending that time with anyone else..Will you please.. Marry me..?" He asked, pulling out the little box, which nestled a beautiful ring. I smiled. "Yes.." I said smiling. I kissed him on the lips.

I have never really had the best luck with my boyfriends.. I've always been tossed around like a little play toy. There have been very few that didn't do that.
The day of band competition came, and I had seen him so much. Either it was in the hallway, or in band. He is in 11th Grade, and im in 8th.. Why would he like an 8th grade? "YOLO" I thought to myself. I got the nerve to sit with him, while the other bands played and marched.. I made him, John, and Draven laugh so much. "Score!" I thought to myself. He has brown hair, and the prettiest green eyes I've ever seen. We hungout ALL day, and when I wasn't with him, I was either peeing, or looking for him. I Loved him already. We have currently been dating for 5 months and 4 days.. and I couldn't ask for anyone better, because that is impossible. I love you Austin:)

Chapter 33:
The memories Mark and I had had flashed through my head as we walked outside to bury him. The green tent was set, and flowers were all around. I watched as they lowered the coffin underneath the ground. I cried, and I couldn't hold it in anymore, and puked. I made sure I made it away from the coffins though.
They finished the burial, and then I left. I couldn't stand around and watch everyone cry. I became light headed half way there. I pulled over. "Take deep breaths.." I said to myself. I called Lane. He said he would hurry, and then about five minutes later, his red work truck pulled up.
I was turning gray. I fealt my legs so numb. "I can't walk.." I told him. He reached out his arms, and he carried me into his truck. I layed on the backseat, and then we drove my Mallory's. When we got there, he carried me to my room, and got me a wet washcloth. I was going into a panic attack.
"You have a fever.." he said, reading the thermometer he stuck under my tongue. I fealt my head, but it was too cold from the wash cloth. He sat in my room, caring for me until I fell asleep.
I wokeup at eight. He was sitting on the edge of my bed, eating a cookie. "Your still here..?" I asked. "Yeah. You weren't feeling good. I wasn't going to just leave you here in pain.." He said, feeling my forehead again. I smiled. "I think it's gone.." he said. He washed off the thermometer, and then stuck it under my tongue again. "It's like 99.. I think you're fine now" he said kissing my cheek.
"Did you stay here all day..?" I asked. "I got up to pee once.. That count..?" he asked. I laughed. He really cared about me. The feeling had came back in my legs, so I told him I wanted to go get my car, but he said he had already brought it here. I smiled, and crawled back in my bed. I layed on my side, and fell back asleep.

Chapter 32:
I got finished, and then walked to the living room, and waited for Lynnette, who was getting dressed. She walked down the stairs, and then said "Let's go". I grabbed my keys off the counter, and then we headed out the door. "I'm sorry" she said, when we got half way down the road. "For what?" I asked.
"About him passing away" she said. "Things happen..I'll survive.." I said. I gripped the stearing wheel tighter, until my knuckles turned white. "What's wrong?" she asked, noticing my knuckles.
I looked at her. She looked at me, and then got silent. I almost cried, but I just needed to be strong. For everyone. I watched the road, and then pulled up at Zion Hill, for the funeral. I was greeted, hugged, and told so many "I'm sorry" 's I wanted to scream.
They didn't know my backstory, and how hard this was. They looked at me stupid for not crying, but they didn't understand. If I cried, then it would just make my suffering that much worse. I walked under in the chair, and sat on the front pew with his mother, and the service began.
I watched as everyone said things. Someone sang, and then the preacher prayed. I watched as they carried the wooden coffin out the church doors, I followed, and cried the whole way there.

Krissy's POV:
He told me how he fealt, but most importantly, he said he wanted to make me his wife. I got up, and got dressed, and he went off to work. I got dressed, and put on the dress Mark had bought me when we had gone shopping one time. It was a black, V-neck dress, that came down to my knees. I thought about all of this. Everything happens for a reason, but why did this happen? Why so sudden? Why couldn't he have lived?
I was gonna go back to California and hope we could work it out, but not now. I wanted Lane, and only Lane, since I moved to Mississippi. "Are you gonna live here permanently?" Lane asked from outside the locked bathroom door. "I'll stay here until Lynnette moves out, and then I'll go to a hotel I guess", I said.
"You know I have two houses.." he said. "Why do you have two houses?" I asked him. "Because I wanted to ask........I don't know. I just wanted to move out of my parent's house." He said. I knew he wanted to say something different. He was scared to say it. "What's the real reason?" I asked, opening the door. He smiled, and walked down the stairs to the living room.
I smiled, and put my eyeliner on, just the way Mark liked it, and put my grey eyeshadow on, that Mark had said made me look more sophisticated. I couldn't believe he was gone. It would be so different. I would only go to California to sell all my stuff, and then return to Mississippi..Where I belonged.

"I kinda heard you quit.." he said. "Yeah..About that.." I said, sitting in the chair on the balcony. "Why did you quit?" he asked. "The coaches were too hard on me.." I said, lying through my teeth. I sucked at lying, but I tried my best.
"Okay..So what's the real reason?" he asked. I thought for a minute about how I was going to explain it, but the words never came to my mind. So I just told him exactly how I fealt. "Lane.. I love you.. You have something that Mark was missing.. I LIKED Mark, but I LOVE you.. You're my soulmate and I haven't known you for very long.." I said. He sat there thinking.
Lane's POV:
She poured her heart out to me. Now it was my turn. I was way too nervous.. I would mess something up. I just looked out in space, and then stood up. I looked her deep in the eyes and it all came out. "I love you.. I like your great personality, your beautiful smile..Gosh I love that smile, and just you! Everything about you is perfect. I don't want you to leave me.. I want to be able to call you my wife one day, and right now what I really like about you is your a strong person.. You take up for what needs to be taken up for, you love kids, and you're just plain out gorgeous.." I said, gripping her hands, and she smiled that beautiful smile I fell for the very first time I layed eyes on her.

Chapter 29:
We got to Mallory's and I explained what I did, and how I quit. She just hugged me. I was confused.. Why would she be hugging me? "Now Lane can.." she stopped midsentence. "Lane can what?" I asked. "Nothing.." she said, picking up the red broom, and sweeping.
I didn't want to spoil what was Lane was going to do, so I just stopped begging, and went inside and fell asleep. I had been in Mississippi almost three months now. It fealt natural to say that. I layed in bed, stared at the roof and checked my phone. I had 3 texts. One from Paige, and one from Lane.
I read Paige's and it read "Hey sis" I smiled and messaged back and said, "Hey sweet girl. How are you?" and then replied to Lane's "I wish you were here with me", and "Goodmorning Beautiful.. I'll see you in about three seconds..:)" and then my phone vibrated again. I touched my message icon and it was from Lane, and it said "I see you" I got kinda creeped out, so I scanned the room.
Then I heard a noise coming from my window. I walked onto the balcony, and sure enough he was sitting there. I smiled, and hugged him really tight. He kissed me. I smiled. "Hello beautiful" he said with clean, tooth paste breath. I hugged him again, not wanting to let go. "Wanna meet my parents tonight?" he asked. "Sure..?" I said.
I'll bring ya to my house after the funeral and work" he said. I let loose of my grip, but then held on again, and whispered "I love you".

Chapter 28:
I finished her nails, and then she got out her computer and got on quizilla. We did some questionaire things, and then she fell asleep. When she fell asleep, Ginger and Patrick drove up. "You pulled up at the right time.." I said as Ginger walked in.
I got off the couch, and then Lynnette and I went to Mallory's, while Lane went to his house. Lane made sure to kiss me goodnight though. "Is the funeral tomorrow?" Lynnette asked, as we drove out of the driveway. "Yeah, you coming?" I asked.
"Yeah. I'm gonna miss you when I go to Florida.. I'm used to you going with me and adventuring and sight seeing!" she said. "I'm sorry.. I just.. I just can't.." I said. She kept driving, and didn't say a word.
"Are you mad?" I asked. "No... I would probably understand if I were in your situation right now.." she said. I just looked out the window and wondered what in the world I was gonna do.
