Torn in Between
Chapter 2:
The gray door to my dorm looked so cold, and boring. There was a pink, mini mailbox stuck beside my door. Guess we got mail here? This was my first time to ever be at a boarding school.
“Do I have a roommate?” I asked, looking in the pink mailbox. My number on the side was 13.. Wow. Wasn’t that great?
“Nope. Guess you got off lucky. Need me, and I’m right next door.” He said, smiling. I laughed. I didn’t want to be alone. I needed a roommate. Someone to talk to. Since, I was new and hardly knew anyone.
He opened the boring looking gray door. “Of course, you don’t have to stay with gross, grandma theme” he said, pointing at the white, stained sheets on my bunk bed beside the wall. “Bathroom’s here” he pointed to a white door, “You don’t get your own kitchen but the cafeteria is opened at all times and you are allowed to eat in here.”
I nodded. “I’m going to be so lonely.” I said, plopping down on the dusty, raggedy bed. “You don’t have to be. You can come room with me for a little while. I have three beds”
“How come you get three?” I asked. “Trevor, Me, and one for a guest. Or in this case..You” he smiled, grabbed my hand, and pulled me gently off the bed. I was dragged to his room. I placed my big black and white polka dotted bag by the bed at the window.
“Your room is prettier than mine! No fair!” I said, laughing. “One word: Renovation!” he laughed, sitting beside me on the big brown couch by the fireplace. Wow, either him or Trevor had money.
I was looking around and the walls caught my attention. On one side of one bed there were baseball pictures, and on the other there were bands, and DC logos. “I see y’all have different taste ” I said, to myself. “Yeah. We both like baseball but he didn’t want to match me, so he just put other stuff up” Blake said.
Trevor’s bed and side of the wall looked better than Blake’s. I wasn’t going to tell him that though. “Me and Trevor have played baseball all our lives. I’ve known him before we moved here” Blake continued.
“We have a bathroom too” Blake randomly said. “Should I be offended? Do I stink?” I lifted up my arm, prepared to take a sniff. “No..You’re fine” he laughed, pushing my arm back down. “I was just going to let you know, since we were having a party and all in our dorm tonight” he said, still laughing at me.
“I’ll go shower..” I said, fake pouting on the way to the bathroom. I grabbed my favorite brown and blue striped dress, and went to the shower. The bathroom was as unique as there room. They had an automatic soap dispenser and the sink was pearly white, just like the shower. They were either never home to take a shower, or one of them were neat freaks.
I ran some water, and adjusted the temperature until I decided it wasn’t too hot. I was in the middle of washing my arms when I heard, “Click” I decided it wasn’t anything to worry about, so I kept showering. Then I heard water running, from the sink. This was beginning to get freaky.
I opened the shower curtain slowly, and saw a strange, but familiar boy. “OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!! GET OUT!!!!!!!!!!!” I screamed. He yanked the white headphones out of his ears and stared at me, in shock. “I’m sorry! I didn’t know anyone was in-“ he began. “GO!!!!” I screamed again, almost crying.
The door clicked again, and I decided to get out. I was almost about ready to rip my hair out. The first day here, being the new girl and some guy had already seen me naked. Not very good, I decided.
