Hi, my name is
Kennedi Alexis Mohr
I'm 14. I want to tell you about my life.
My dad left when I was 3 days old. I live with my mom, and I have an older brother. He's in college,
and I don't think he's coming back. It all started in 1st grade. I was teased for not having a dad to be
there for me. They would laugh at me, and not share their things with me. In 3rd grade, they all tripped
me, and continued laughing at me. In 6th grade, thats when I got called,"fat," "ugly," and a "wh0r3."
They pushed me around the hallways, and shove me into lockers.
That's when I picked up my first razor.
My mom sent me to counceling, but in my opinion, it didn't work. Since then, the teasing and the rumors have gotten worse. More laughing, and pushing. Every night, I cried. I wished I wasn't alive.
But then I realized.
I'm letting them have what they want.
They want to hurt me.
I had to stay strong, and be the better person.
I kept my head up high.
At school the next day, I got lunch food spilled on my shirt on "accident."
That's when I couldn't take it anymore.
So I stood up, and said,
"Are you happy? Do you feel accomplished that you brought a girl down? Sometimes I wish I didn't wake up. It's so hard living with people like you, always trying to bring me down. So are you proud? I've had such a hard life. My dad left when I was 3 year old, and my brother left the family. My mom is in depression. Do you think you're happy making a struggling girl cry? DO YOU? I always prayed that there would be a day that everyone would stop judgin me. I always think,"What's wrong with me? I know I'm not the prettiest, or the smartest, or the skinniest girl in the world, but what have I done to you?You all hurt me, with your bullying, and all I did was take it in, and I've had enough. So if you think you've accomplished something, your wrong. The only thing you did was made a girl feel bad about herself. But who cares anymore, because I definitely don't. So in 20 years when I'm sucessful, I'll look down at my pass, and think ,"What a waste of time.""
And at first , no one spoke. Then one girl stood up and started clapping.
Then another girl.
And then a boy.
And then the whole cafeteria stood up and clapped.
The girl who spilled food on me, left the cafeteria in embarrassment.
Now, I'm in 9th grade.
Rarely anyone bugs me.
I stayed strong.
You should too.
Don't reach down to their level.
YOU ARE BETTER THAN THEM.
