Chapter six
I stood up shakily. I saw something on Draco's face. Anger? Disappointment? i wasn't sure, i went to sit down next to Jake who threw his arms around me.
"Jake..." i mumbled gently pushing his arms off. Next the headmaster gave a speech. He was a wizard called something Weasley... I'd forgotten his first name After his speech food just... appeared! it was wonderful I was warm and sleepy and i trudged after our prefect (a girl called Emily Potter). She told us the password was Headless (after a ghost apparently) then i walked up the stairs to the first year dormitories and fell onto my bed. I quickly changed and fell asleep.
I felt like it was all a dream and that i would wake up and be in my bedroom, and my mum would laugh at my story and tell me there was no such thing as magic."
I closed my eyes and just as i was about to sleep two faces popped into my head, one the Mysterious Draco, the other?
Jake...
The next few weeks passed in a blur. I grew to love my wand, it was nine inches, made with cherry wood (it had a slightly reddish tint to it) and a phoenix feather. I turned out to be alright at most lessons, i found i was best at potions with a friendly professor Slughorn as my teacher. Me and Jake had most lessons together, apart from DADA (defense against the dark arts) and potions. Apart from those two subjects we sat together. I did like Jake, he was a great friend. Even when i knew nothing about magic, i had always liked the friendly boy down the road. We used to play with each other at the park.
Life was good.
What do you guys think?

Chapter five
A few other unfamiliar names were called before i heard "Malfoy, Draco" I looked at him as he smoothly walked to the stool and sat down. His face was white and his green eyes were wide. i saw him muttering
"slytherin,slytherin,slytherin,please,slytherin"
"strange" the hat crooned "So unlike all the other Malfoys...Brave, strong, Gryffindor perhaps?"
he continued to mutter slytherin under his breath
"I see..." the hat said softly before shouting "SLYTHERIN!"
"Flint, Elena" that was it i caught Draco's eye as i walked up, but he ignored me. "Charming" i muttered.
I sat down on the stool, i felt more self conscious of my bright red hair more than ever. The hat was places upon my head. It then spoke to me. It was in my head, I'm sure of it.
"Oh Elena, what to do with you?" it said in a tired voice "You could go in any of the four houses..." it paused "Maybe less slytherin but none the less..." it continued to mumble a bit.
People at the tables started to whisper. The sorting hat never took this long.
I saw Jake's desperate gaze and just as i was about to start muttering Gryffindor just as Draco had done, i also caught Draco's gaze on me.
I didn't know what to do, i started to fiddle with my hair, i always did it when i was uncertain.
"Young love..." the hat sighed before crying
"GRYFFINDOR!!!" Relief crossed his face, but not happiness like Jakes had done.

In the life of Elena Flint
Chapter four
We followed the giant (He was called Hagrid i think) man up to the castle. We all filled into a hallway were we were met by Professor McGonagall. She had a quick look at us all before staring at me and then turned to Hagrid and said sharply
"Fell in the lake?"
"yea" he said in his gruff voice "Lucky som'ne wen' in to save her."
"oh" she said in a surprised voice "and who is this hero?" she asked.
I looked around but nobody stepped forward. hmm whoever saved me didn't want anyone to know.
The professor waved her wand once and i was dry.
"Thanks!" is said happily. I was now warm,but hungry!
She gave a short speech about being sorted into our houses then led us through to a grand hall. four long tables were filled with children from my age and up. The hall was decorated with red and gold. We all lined up and Professor McGonagall placed an extremely battered old hat on a stool. Then without warning it burst into song! The lyrics were about each house and there properties. At the end of the song i felt i wouldn't mind being in any of them!
She then started to call out names.
It felt like an eternity before the first name i recognized was called.
"McCoy, Jake" she cried. I gave him a reassuring pat on the shoulder as he went to be sorted.
The hat was placed on his head, it thought about it for a few seconds before shouting...
"GRYFFINDOR!"
A huge smile broke across his face as he went to sit among his fellow house mates.

Chapter three
"Firs'-years, c'mon follow me, all firs'-years this way" Said a booming voice.
Jake and me followed the voice until we reached a giant of a man. Literally he was a giant. He had a huge bushy beard and a round tummy.
We walked behind him until we reached the edge of a lake. We clambered into little boats that rowed themselves!
I peered over the edge looking into the inky black water below.
" i love that colour" Jake whispered looking with me.
I blushed a little. I had just been thinking my eyes were that colour. I reached down a hand and my skin touched the water. It was cold, no freezing, but oddly inviting. I leaned over to put my whole hand in.
Then...
SPLASH.
I plunged into the murky water. It didn't feel inviting now. It felt like tiny hands were trying to drag me down. I tried to come up. I felt another splash and someone came in after me. I was still trying to desperately claw my way up. My first thought was that Jake had come to rescue me. A pair of arms looped around my waist and pulled me to the surface. I coughed and spluttered my arms falling around me. My rescuer pushed me onto the boat, then swam off to another one!
I saw a glimpse of white blonde hair as the figure swam away.
I turned confused. Then seeing Jakes panicked face.
I fainted.
I woke with a jolt. I opened my eyes to see Jakes face looming over mine. We were still in the boat, but we had just hit the shore, the lurch must have woken me up. I blinked then lifted my head up. I blushed as i realized my head had been on his lap.
I shivered with cold. My clothes were still soaked through. I desperately tried to rinse the water from my robes, without any luck.
My nose felt like it was about to fall off.
"Water d-dosen't ag-gree w-with m-me" i shivered
Jake rubbed my arms in an attempt to warm me up
"That's because your a fire girl." He smiled.
Everyone started to climb out the boats and with much tripping i got out too.

Chapter two
I turned to find my parents. I gave each of them a long hug and a kiss and then i turned to get on the train. I Hopped on and stared to try and find Jake. i bumped into someone on the way up the train. with a yelp i tripped over my robes. The boy I'd bumped into reached out and grabbed me, stopping my fall. As i got up i mumbled a thanks. I looked at him. He was... I don't know, strange looking. He had blonde, almost white hair and green eyes. I saw him taking me in too. He then realized he was still holding my arm and took his hand away. He then just turned and walked off.
I shrugged but i still felt a little uneasy as i went off again to find Jake.
I saw Jakes head popping out a compartment and i rushed over to join him. We sat down next to eachother. The train then started to move.
"What house do u want to be in?" i asked
"Gryffindor of course." he said. He was totally at ease here. He had told me pretty much everything i had to know about hogwarts and wizards in general.
"What about me?" i asked, "Which do you think i will be in?"
"well," he said matter of factually "Your very clever, so mabye ravenclaw... or hufflepuff because your muggle born.... or mabye even slytherin" he added wickedly.
I hit his sholder
"I will NOT be in slytherin!" i cried
"I'm only joking" he laughed "of course you'll be in gryffindor, you look likie the lion that resebles it".
"Rawww!" i laughed
He got some of hair imbetween his fingers and played with it.
"i can't belive this is your natural colour." he said
"I know, it's weird" i shrugged
"No" he insisted "it's just you." he smiled at me.
His eyes lingered on mine for a moment before going back to joking around.
When the sweets trolley came i bought 3 chocolate frogs and Jake bought some every flavour beans. I lost one of my frogs and spent ages chasing it around the compartment. When i finally caught it i had a look at my cards.
I had 3 Dumbledore's.
"damn" i muttered.
The train slowed to a halt. And we clambered off. To my embarrassment as i was getting off the train i tripped on my robes AGAIN and fell into the same boy. He grabbed me before i fell onto the hard concrete.
"Will you please stop doing that." his voice was cold but sliky.
"Sorry" i mumbled Turning red.
"El, are you ok?" Jake asked running up to me.
"Yeah i'm fine" i said
"El?" The boy said
"Elena." i corrected.
"Draco" he replied. Then he walked off leaving me and Jake alone.

In the life of Elena Flint
Chapter one
I'm Elena flint and I'm a witch. Well i will be, I'm just muggle at the moment. I'm here standing at King's Cross station looking at a brick wall and being told to run into it.
I'm here with my mum and my dad, oh and Jake, the boy down my road (who i found out was a full wizard!) Jake's been really helpful, he came with us to diagon alley and we got out stuff together. He's been showing off his handsome black owl. I didn't get an owl, i didn't get any pet because i already have one. I have my pet snake Rashka.
"Come on El, i'll go first if you want," Jake said.
"Yes, you go first..." i said feeling a bit nervous.
And before I could look he had disappeared through the wall
"Come on darling" My mum urged.
I pulled back to have a good run up, i gripped the bars of my trolley tightly and i ran. I had gone quite far back my rose red hair flew out behind me. I shut my black eyes as we got near. I waited for the crash of metal on bricks but it never came. I opened my eyes to find my self on an entirely different platform. A shiny Scarlett train stood next to me.
I gasped and looked around for Jake.
He ran over and gave me a hug
"Isn't it great?" he asked beaming.
"Yeah it's... wow" i rushed.
"Say goodbye to your mum and Dad and lets get on!" he said excitedly.
