Beautiful Secret
Chapter 2
I was already super embarresed about what had happened earlier, but it got way worse when I walked into Science.
"Alright kids time for your new seats that you'll have during the whole second term," Our teacher, Mr. Jackson, said. Guess where I got to sit? Yeah, by Sean. My day was great.
Later while Tori and I were walking to my house she said,
"You should be happy."
"Why?" I asked her.
"Because, you get to sit by Sean dawson, every girl in school would love to be you right now," She told me. I shook my head.
"it's not the best seat in the world," I told her.
"Uh, yeah it is," She laughed. I rolled my eyes and smiling.
"Gotta go, Dad needs me to take care of the dweeb," I said with a sigh.
"Ooh, I feel bad for you," She told me.
"Thanks," I said and turned and walked down my driveway. I walked into the house and Dad was sitting there looking at a picture that I hadn't seen in a couple years. It was if Me, him, mom, and little baby Xavier ( he hated it when I called him that, so I always did). I walked over and sat down beside him.
"Hey Dad, I like that picture. I haven't seen it in a long time," I said trying to babble but when I tried it didn't work. He looked at me and smiled.
"You look like her you know That, don't you?" He asked. I shook my head. My mom was a lot prettier than me.
"No, Mom is way prettier than I am," I said. He smiled, then looked at his watch.
"Gotta go sweetheart, don't wanna be late," He said and then walked out the door. I sighed.
"Dweeb!" I called. No answer.
"Dweeb?" I called again. I walked up to his room. He wasn't there, he was always there. I grabbed the phone and called Dad.
"Dad?!? Where's Xavier? He's not in his room!" I said quickly.
"What? he should be there that's exactly where he went when he came home," Dad told me. That's when I looked at the window. Xavier's fire ladder had been dropped.
"Did he want to go anywhere?" I asked.
"He asked me if he could go to his friend Jake's house, I told him, not to until you got home," He told me.
"thanks Dad, all I needed to know," I said. I looked around a couple more minutes looking for anything that said where he'd gone, and what did I find? A sticky note that said he was at his friend Jake's house and it said the address. I shrugged and walked downstairs and out of my house.
When I got to the address I knocked on the door. A lady answered the door and I saw my brother sitting playing video games with, I guess, Jake.
"Hello, can I help you?" She asked and smiled.
"Um... I think my brother is here. Xavier?" I asked.
"Oh, yes, you're new in town right? Xavier said you moved here two days ago. Come in," She said and smiled.
"Um, yes, ma'am just moved here. Thank you," I said and I walked inside. Xavier looked up and his eyes widdened.
"I can explain," He said quickly. I nodded.
"Later, and you won't be getting in trouble with me, if you get in trouble with anybody, it's gonna be dad," I told him. He groaned.
"Jake, where'd my-" A guy said, and stopped when he saw me. My luck could not get worse.
"Sean this is, um...," His mom started to say.
"McKenna," I said.
"Yes, this is McKenna," She said. He nodded.
"Yeah, we've met," He said.
"Hey, come on dweeb, time to go. M-Mom's waiting for us," I said, but I stuttered on the word Mom.
"Mom's home?!?" He asked getting up. I felt bad lying to him, but I nodded.
"I'm coming!" He said really loud and excited and I felt horrible with myself.
"Alright, come on," I told him.
"Thanks for letting him come over, he's been dying for someone to talk to other than me," I said and smiled.
"Your welcome, adn he can come anytime he wants to, he's no trouble at all really," She told me.
"Bye," I said and smiled. We walked out the door and I heard Sean say,
"I'll walk them home." I almost tripped.
"Hey," He said walking up behind me.
"Hi," I said back. "What exactly are you doing?"
"Getting out of my hectic house," He answered.
"Oh, well, that makes sense... I guess," I said.
"Yeah, I'm sure you understand, you know, since you have a little brother, too," He said. I nodded.
"That's insulting," Xavier said, and I laughed.
"It's supposed tp be," i told him. he stuck his tongue out. My phone rang and I pulled it out of my pocket. It was Tori.
"Hello?" I asked.
"You- You're- He's- AHHH!" She yelled and I had to hold my phone away from my ear.
"Jeez, calm down Tori, I just went to pick Xavier up," I told her.
"Yeah right! He's walking you home!" She whispered-yelled.
"Hush! You're going to blow my eardrums," I muttered.
"Tori, I gotta go," I said and hung up. I looked at Sean and started to apologize, but he was smiling at me like he was pretty amused.
"What?" i asked. He shook his head.
"Nothing," He told me. When we got to my house Sean went home and I was busted by my eight-year-old brother.
"Mom's not actually here is she?" He asked. I shook my head.
