I looked around. Always a new school in a
new town. Never any different. I'd been to so many
schools that they were all starting to blend together.
I was walking through the hallway to my locker when I heard
someone yell,
"Hey, new girl!"
I didn't turn around. I was all to familiar with this
routine. I hated when people did that, I had a name.
"New girl!" They shouted again. I got really fed up
with it after about three minutes and turned around.
"I have a name!" I shouted at my best friend
Tori.
"Jeez, sorry, I was just kidding," She said.
"Sorry," I told her.
"Lots of schools do that kind of thing to ya, huh?"
She said. i rolled my eyes.
"That and pet peeves," I laughed. I'd known
Tori since I was way little. I'd never gone to school
with her before, her dad and my dad had been high-school
buddies, and yeah, etc. This was my very first day here,
ever.
"Yeah, I know. Anyway, you met Sean yet?" She asked
in a weird voice.
"No, and I don't really plan on it," I told
her.
"Yes, you do plan on it," She said smiling.
"What? No I don't," I said.
"Yes, you do," She said not leaving it at no.
"No! I really don't!" I said again starting to
wonder why she was so confident about this.
"Three, two, one...," She muttered to herself and
on one. I ran right into someone.
"Told you so," I heard Tori say as I was
apologizing while picking my stuff up.
"It's no problem. Really," I heard a guy say. I
looked up. It was Sean, I think. I still wasn't great
with names.
"Well, bye," I said and stood up. I caught up to
Tori.
"You're blushing," She stated.
"Great, wonderful first day," I muttered. She
laughed quietly and said,
"I would have to think so."
"Why?"
"Because, I think he likes you."
"you think every guy who glances at me likes me," I
pointed out. She nodded.
"yeah, but this time I really think so," She told
me. I rolled my eyes, smiling.
"Don't you think he's cute, though?" She
asked.
"I never really think about how cute guys are, but he
is, by far, the cutest I have ever seen," I told
her.
"Good, because he's right behind you," She
started laughing as I turned around and saw him. I swear my
heart skipped a beat, then I blushed.
