I personally think it's because people (guys, in this case) want to fit in and they feel like when they're in real life around their friends they have to act a certain way and then when they're online they can be as sweet as they want to be. Or something like that.

There's one guy in my grade (my crush) who is the kind of guy who would want a girl who has good taste in music, fun personality, kinda dorky, weird etc. and he has a tumblr :) then every other guy in my grade is like the second one lol xDD there's only like 2 guys i actually know like that one is my crush and the other is his best friend but he has a gf who's homeschooled lol
