    PLEASE READ
EVERYBODY QUESTIONING SUICIDE OR THINKING ABOUT IT.
You’re sitting in your room ~ door locked ~ with a pen in your hand and a blank piece of paper infront of you. Your hand is shaking, and the tears begin again - for the third time in the past hour. ‘To my family’ you write at the top of the page, but decide it’s a bad way to begin your letter ~ your suicide letter. You try again, start over ~ again and again, but you don’t know where to begin. No one understands you; no one knows what you’re going through, you’re alone or at least that’s what you think. Nobody would care if you’re alive or not, you mean nothing to nobody. It’s night, and you slip into bed. ’Goodbye’ you whisper into the darkness. And with that, you take your last breathe and end it all. No body cares, right? Well you thought wrong. It’s a Tuesday the following morning, and when it’s 7:21, your mother comes and knocks on your door. She doesn’t know you can’t hear her she doesn’t know you’regone. She knocks a few more times, calling your name to open up. When there is no reply from your side of the door, she opens it and screams. She collapses on the ground while your dad rushes to your room. Your siblings have already left for school. Your very weak mother collects all the energy she’s got which is close to nothing to walk over to your bed. She leans over your dead body, crying, squeezing your hand, screaming. Your dad is trying to stay strong, but the tears escape his eyes; calling 000 or 911 with his left hand while his other one is on your mother’s back. Your mother blames herself. All those times she had said ‘no’ to you, all those times she had screamed at you, and sent you to your room over something stupid. Your father will blame himself for not being there for you when you asked for help, for being away from home at work for long. Nobody cares, right? 8:34. There’s a knock on your classroom door it’s the school principle. She looks more worried than ever. She calls the teacher to the side; all the students worried: what’s going on? The principle then later announces about your suicide. The popular girl that always called you fat and ugly is now blaming herself. The kid that would always copy your homework but treat you like crap ~ he’s blaming himself. The boy that sits behind you ~ the one that always threw things at you during class ~ he’s blaming himself too. The teacher is blaming herself - for all those times she’d scream at you for forgetting your homework, or not listening in class. People are crying, screaming, shocked, in regret of what they did. They’ll all be devastated - even the kids you’ve never talked to before. Still nobody cares about you, right? Your siblings get home. Your mother has to tell them that you’re gone; forever. Your little sister ~ no matter how many times she’s screamed at you, told you she hated you and stole your stuff ~ always loved you, and saw you as her hero; her role model. She now starts to blame herself; why didn’t I do what she told me to do when she told me to? Why did I take her stuff even when she asked me not to? This is all my fault. Your brother gets home ~ the boy that never cries. He’s now in his room; mad at himself ~ he caused your death. All those times he’d played pranks on you. He’s punching holes in his wall, turning over things; he doesn’t know how to deal with the fact that you’re gone. Forever. Nobody cares about you, right? Right? It has been over a month. The door to your room has been closed all this time. Everything is different now. Your brother has to be sent to anger management classes, your little sister cries everyday still waiting for you to come back. Everyday she waits for you to come back home. The popular girls have now turned anorexic. They don’t know how to deal with the pain that they’re feeling. Your father has depression; your mother hasn’t slept for nights it’s all her fault. She’s been crying and screaming every night wishing for you to come back. The boy who would always bother you dropped out of school. The boy that copied your homework now cuts. But nobody cares about you, aren’t I right? Your mother finally decides to go clean out your room. But she can’t do it. She’s locked herself in your room for two days to try to clean up your clothes, your things. But she can’t she can’t say goodbye to you, not yet, not now. Never. It’s your funeral. It’s a big one ~ everybody comes. No one knows what to say. The beautiful girl with the big smile is gone; you’re somewhere else. No one knows what to say, they’re all still shocked. Everyone cries, everyone misses you. They all wish you’d come back but you don’t, and you won’t. Still think nobody cares about you? Think again. Even if people don’t show it, they care about you, they love you. If you kill yourself today or any other day you won’t know just how much you meant to people. If you kill yourself today, it stops your pain, but it pains all the ones who know you for the rest of their life. Suicide is the easy way out - but it’s the wrong choice. Life is beautiful. Yes, it does have its ups and downs everyone has their bad days. Sometimes people go through tough times in their lives like you’re probably going through now but bad times come and go. You might not see the light at the end of the tunnel, but it’s there. No matter how hard life gets, never give up on yourself, or on your life. Take a minute now, and think. If you killed yourself ~ how would the people that love you feel/go through? Can’t think of anything? Well I’ll tell you: tears, tears, and more tears. Devastation. Guilt. Pain. Broken. Regret. Miserable. If after reading this you still feel suicidal, there are people that can help you. I’m here for you whenever you need me, and I’ll be more than happy to listen to you and try to help you feel better. There are teachers, parents, grandparents, neighbors, adults, councilors ~ they’re all there for you whenever you need them.

    "Clubs#2."
Danielle and Sara we’re always the party girls. “My mom wanted me to go easy on drink,” Brianne said. “So should you,” Dustin said sternly to Katelyn who backed down holding her head. Matthew had come from the kitchen into the living room. “So, what’d I miss?” he asked putting his arm around Sara. “We’re thinking ‘bout hitting the clubs, you in?” “Mh,” “Come on Matty,” Sara said playfully. “Okay. Fine,” Matthew said and Sara grinned at Desiray.
“What about you, Dan? You up for it?” Sara asked Danielle. But she already knew the answer. “HELL YEAH.” “Kate? Dusty? Tay? Marc?” Katelyn looked at Dustin hopefully. Dustin looked into her sea-deep eyes. “Fine,” he answered not taking his eyes away from Katelyn’s. “I’m up for it,” Marc said smiling goofily at Taylor. “Guess I’m coming too,” Taylor mumbled.
“I’ll come if Des and Jay come,” Brianne notified everybody and so they all turned their attention to Desiray and Jayden. They looked at each other and sighed. “Fine.” “I’ll come then,” Brianne said. “Yay!” Sara clapped her hands.
“We’re going to have sooooo much fun!” Sara cried. “First we’ll hit the bar, hit on guys waaay out of our league while the guys watch and then, and then,” Sara was getting way to excited, planning their whole route on which club goes first and nonsense. “But you’re not allowed to kiss whoever you’re flirting with. Do I make myself clear?” Sara said a bit more harshly. “I don’t want anybody getting way over jealous or over protective. All they can have is a flirt then knock them off and say ‘Oops, sorry my boyfriend is waiting for me’ and see the look on their faces!” Sara yelped excitedly.
“Okay, I’m all up for clubbing and partying, Sara, but you’re planning our whole night here. We need to live wild, unexpectedly.” Katelyn said smiling. “Plus, we have to be here by two. My mom will be wondering where we got off to any time after two.

    "Clubs#1"
“I can’t believe your back, sweetheart,” Evangeline cried over her distraught daughter. “I’ve missed you so much!” she hugged her ever-so-tightly. “Mom – can’t – breathe,” Desiray whined and Evangeline laughed. “Sorry baby, you’ve been gone for so long.” She sobbed. “I’m alright now,” “Yes now. What that man did to you . . . he should be locked up for years. Life, even.”
“Mom, he’s going to the Courtroom. He’ll obviously plead not guilty; they always do. But hopefully, it’ll be the last I ever saw or heard about him.” “Yes honey, sorry for bringing it up again.” “I’ll go cook some pasta,” Evangeline offered. Desiray had been home for at least a week three days now. Back in the safe arms of her family.
Alfie would be locked up forever, she knew it. There’d been proof that he took Desiray. Her DNA, her hair and spit: even vomit found in the basement, no, ‘dungeon’ of Alfie’s house. And he old clothing had fibres of Desirays skin on, and the floor held skin Desiray had shed.
All Desiray could think of was . . . was home. She was home. She chuckled to herself. How did I ever escape? Ariana, Kyla, Katelyn, Brianne, Danielle, Sara, and Taylor we’re coming to Desiray’s house for a sleepover sort of thing. And Jayden and his friends. Evangeline and Alfie we’re going to town for the night Desiray didn’t know her mother was seeing Alfie tonight though, she was completely oblivious to it. Evangeline told Desiray her and a good ‘friend’ we’re having a meal in town.. Alfie hadn't been arrested yet, he hadn't been found of his where-abouts.
Evangeline didn’t want Desiray to be alone, so she said she could invite a few friends ‘round.
But that few turned into 11 people. There was enough rooms. Desiray and Jayden would be taking her room, Ariana and Kyla on the floor of one of the guest bedrooms while Katelyn and her boyfriend Dustin in the bed. Danielle and Brianne in the other guest bedroom, while Sara and Matthew took the floor, and then Taylor and Marc in the other guest bedroom. Which also left one bedroom left just in case someone wanted to be on their own, or wanted some space.

    chapter seven
    "A warm welcome"
But he wouldn’t – he thought he locked the archway gate, but accidentally left it open. He’d want Desiray back – and he’d do everything in his will power to get her back. Alfie was at Heerish Walmart shopping for some treats for Desiray. “I’d let her have freedom from now. Watering plants, out on couple walks on the beach, down the park..” he had so many ideas popping in his head.
WAIT. I DIDN’T CLOSE THE ARCHWAY GATE.
He wasn’t sure, but he couldn’t risk losing Desiray. He immediately dropped everything he’d been choosing, and ran to his car. He started it, then stalled it. “Come on,” he started it and drove home, not stopping at a single red light. “She wouldn’t leave, she loves me, right?” he comforted himself, and relaxed in the car. “Let’s just check, just in case though.” He opened the door. “Desiray?” he called. No answer. “DESIRAY?” And again. “DESIRAY WHERE ARE YOU!?” The clothes we’re gone, but so was Desiray.
She wasn’t outside. He’d left the archway gate open very wide with petals on the floor. He put them there preparing for Desiray’s first beach-walk with him. He couldn’t find any trace of where she’d escaped.
    No single clue.
    “Where is she?”
Desiray was at home by now with all her friends and family surrounding her. Jayden hadn’t arrived yet. The doorbell rang, and Evangeline answered to Jayden. “Where is she? Is she alright?” he burst in and as soon as he saw Desiray his heart fell to pieces. She looked so hurt. Bruises. But still the most beautiful girl in the world.
“Desiray-” “Jayden-” it was like one of those perfect movie scenes when the lovers are reunited together when they have that grand kiss and spin. They’d missed each other so much. “I’ll never let you go again,” Jayden whispered in her year.

    chapter six
    "Home"
As she walked more and more, she stumbled up across a graze in the hedge. An opening. An exit. JACKPOT. She jumped excitedly, and looked at where she came from the house and the longer hedge archway. Coast is clear. She jumped through the escape quite easily, and found herself right on the world. Open and free. What was the first thing for her to do?
She couldn’t believe Alfie made that mistake of leaving the archway open. Unless it was a trap. She ran and ran until her small leg’s gave in. She knew where she was; she was at Greydeen, by the beach where she used to be a lifeguard!
She ran to there and saw her friend, Katelyn, from before. “KATE!” she screamed as loud as her lungs could scream. “KATE!” she ran into Kate, who went tumbling on the floor. She rubbed her eyes and then realised. “WHAT THE FU- DESIRAY!?” she yelled hugging Desiray while Desiray started crying.
“YOU DIDN’T DIE!” she got bombarded by the other girls, Danielle, Sara, Brianne, and Taylor. “I never went missing – I got kidnapped,” she sobbed while hugging all the girls. “Where’s Jayden?” I asked them. “He said he was with your mom, they we’re sorting out your stuff.” That made me cry harder.
How could Alfie just take me away from my family and just get them to expect I was missing or died? With ease, probably.
“I’ve missed you so much,” Taylor cried. Mrs Jenners, our lifeguard teacher came. “What’s all this about?” she said angrily until her eyes scanned Desiray. “DESIRAY!?” she went over. “Are you okay? What happened? Why did you leave? Where did you go?” she was bombarded with questions.
“She seems tired,” Brianne and Sara stated. “We’ve got to call the police – everybody thought you died, Des,” Mrs Jenners said. “I’ll call them!” Danielle offered, already dialing 991. “I’ll call Mrs Evans and Jay and family!” Offered Taylor. Katelyn was sobbing on Desiray. She was Desiray’s best friend, along with Ariana and Kyla and the girls. And Jay.
“Jay,” she murmured softly. Then it dawned on her. What if Alfie came for her?

    chapter four
    "I can do it"
Alfie had changed Desiray so much she could hardly recognise herself when she looked in the mirror. Well, it was actually a door but the glass gave of her reflection. She looked at her pale white skin from being kept in that dungeon all the time, no daylight. She was skinny. Skinnier than a bone. She hardly got fed. She looked anorexic, no, bulimic.
    But she wasn’t.
She had no choice; she never got the change to eat. She walked one more step out of the house and breathed the smell of fresh air. “Mmm,” she liked the smell of the rose buds and daisies. There we’re various flowers potted here and there. There was a large watering can a few steps away and she took it baby steps at a time.
Her limbs we’re so weak, she could hardly lift the already-full watering can. It was very heavy for her small arms and she almost dropped it. With a struggle, she lifted it. And then she watered the roses next to her. They we’re white and black. “My favourite colours,” Desiray mumbled. Then she moved onto the daisies. She noticed they we’re placed as a letter ‘D’ “First letter of my name.” somehow, every flower seemed to relate to Desiray.
There was some lilies shaping her name, and the letter ‘E’ next to it standing for ‘Desiray Evans’. It scared her a little and she shook, which only resembled goose bumps. Then, she saw red rose petals scattered down a small walkway through the bush archway. It intrigued her, but then she remembered Alfie’s stern words.
‘You’re stuck Des, you won’t get out.’
But they we’re so . . . mysterious, she had to find out the source of the rose petals. “I wonder if it’s Alfie, just waiting to see if you would escape if you had a chance.” That thought bounced around her head for many a minute. “You can’t live without taking chances and risks.” She mimicked Jayden’s words to her when she was just about to enter the Swimming Championships for Greydeen Lifegaurds.
She entered and she won. Memories. Memories she’d never have again. She placed down the water can, and followed the petals. She felt like Alice in Wonderland, exploring the forest trying to find the white Rabbit. It’s an adventure. I’ve got to explore to find the exit.

    chapter three.
    .
Desiray was changing into her clothes slowly. What if a sudden movement sent of a trigger to the alarms? Then she’d be pretty… dead. Alfie wouldn’t let her escape that easily; it must be a challenge. “I can’t believe he set me up. Anyway, I’ll water the flowers just in case he gets angry.” She mumbled, putting on fresh socks then shoes.
“I haven’t had breakfast. And I’m starving. Apparently, I was too ‘badly behaved’ yesterday to earn some.” She said aloud. She just walked into the garden, surprised by the wildlife blossoming here. “I wonder who keeps this all alive,” it was beautiful. And you wouldn’t really expect that for a kidnapper’s garden to be, would you?
“Mom’s garden isn’t even this good; and she works very hard at Ceve Valley garden, my old home.” She had no clue on earth why she was talking to herself. She looked up at the sun shining down on her; it really brightened her black dyed hair. Her natural hair colour was dirty blond, but after Alfie saw her on the news he dyed her hair black. And changed her eye colour to brown, when they we’re naturally an sparkly blue. He even pierced her septum, on her nose. She actually liked the way she looked: she’d always wanted black hair, she’s a sucker for Brown eyes (like Jayden had) and she always wanted a crazy piercing, she already had a bellybutton piercing but it wasn’t as wild as she’d always dreamt of herself being.

    .
WOW. He’s actually letting me outside? I haven’t seen daylight in years! Fresh air! Plants! Freedom!’she thought. ‘Anyway, if Kyla and Ariana had come to pick me up all those years ago; maybe I wouldn’t of gotten myself into this mess.’
But it wasn’t Kyla, neither Ariana’s fault. What Desiray didn’t know, was that Kyla and Ariana had a car crash, minutes before Desiray got kidnapped. They both survived; but with fatal injuries. Ariana’s arm had to be amputated, and Kyla’s leg has big scars and cuts on. Investigator K.C Jones was the girl who investigated the tragic miscarriage crash.
“Ariana was driving, and Kyla was in the driver’s seat and they we’re on the way to Krocknal Gate’s to pick up their dear friend, Desiray Evans. But something went wrong with the gearbox, it completely stopped working. This was just the first fault. Then the accelerator went itself; and the car took of at 80MPH into a fence, through the fence, and into a bush with barbed wire. There, Ariana’s arm was interwined with the wire so the only hope was to amputate it. Anyway, even if it’d gotten free it would have had stitches and scars and many nerves might have been cut off. But what was interesting, that we’re still investigating, is that a man was sighted playing with the engine. Maybe he did something to that car, but we’re still looking.” KC had said on the news, of which, Desiray was banned to watch.
Yes, she did infact have a TV in her ‘dungeon’. But only for watching the people she loved. She watched her boyfriend’s every single move, her parent, her friends. Just to hurt her. When the TV automatically turned on, Jayden appeared on the screen. ‘My boyfriend!’ he was talking to Evangeline, Desiray’s mother. “Jay, I’m so sorry – it’s been two years to this day.” She said. “Two horrible years without her,” he sobbed. He was a man. But he loved Desiray very much: he’d never move on.
“Do you think she’s alive?” Evangeline asked him anxiously. “That’s unanswerable, there’s no proof she died. It’s like Madeline Mccan thirteen years ago, she wasn’t found but people said she died.” Jayden said simply. “I’m never giving up on your daughter, Mrs Evans. I loved her dearly; she’s the only thing I’ve ever actually . . . loved.” His heart-warming speech made Evangeline feel terrible. This lovely boy think’s the world of my daughter. Then she just disappears of the face of the Earth.
My baby. Gone. And she’s not coming back.

Desiray was an unknown mess of shambles. Two years ago, on that dreadful night, she was walking down the road to the Local shop. And all of a sudden, she was taken. Taken away from her freedom, her boyfriend. Her life was gone. She’d vanished from the world, everybody thought she died.
The world thought, though. They had no right proof she died, “She probably went missing. Died, during it.” The police had told Jayden her boyfriend. “I’m broken,” Desiray mumbled to herself. “I’m going to die in this old dungeon-” as if on que, Alfie walked through the door.
“Hi love, you alright?” he asked sweetly. ‘Not after you kidnapping me,’ she wanted to spit in his face. But she’d get a right beating. “Yes, Alfie. You?” she’d also learnt to use manners with Alfie, or it’d result in another beating. “Yes very well. Well then, I’ve got to go – Evangeline’s offered me to go for lunch at hers!” he said enthusiastically and it stung Desiray so much.
He was dating Evangeline, otherwise known as: Desiray’s mother. Sad, really. Right after Desiray supposedly went ‘missing’ or ‘died’, Alfie offered her comfort. Throughout the years, their bond formed: little did Ailsa know that he was holding her precious daughter hostage. Well, not hostage. He kidnapped her.
‘Maybe this is my chance. When he’s gone, make a run for it. I could do it. It’s a possibility.’ She thought to herself. “By the way Des, I’m leaving the front door unlocked so you can water the plants; but there’s barbed wire and security cameras. If you touch them, I’ll whizz straight back here!” he said.
She heard him creek the back door open and step outside and lock it ferociously. Damn. I could escape out the fence, break through it. I’ve known some people who actually walked straight through Barbed wire and survived. So can I.
She just sat there; frozen and stiff. What if this was a set up? To see if she’d actually believe him? For him to just have another excuse for bashing her up? S slowly crept up the stairs trembling. She was worried when she got to the top. There was a fresh lay of clothes, and shoes, there for her. With a note terribly written, she could just about make out these words
‘Remember, don’t try anything. There’s alarms. The neighbours will think you’re an intruder. Then the police will come. Have you locked up for years. Barbed wire. You’ll kill yourself. Door. Locked. Security password protected, just to get outside. You’ll never guess. You’re stuck Des, you won’t get out. Just water the plants. Ooh – I almost forgot! Here’s a fresh batch of clothes. Just so neighbours don’t get suspicious. They’ll never recognise you of the News or anything : since you dyed your hair, got contacts and lost a lot of weight. See you soon.
